More Boilermakers out

The rumor is the Purdue players are out because of grades. That happens at the end of a semester

I know, I was just commenting in response to some other posts in the thread about games being canceled due to "Covid." Grades are totally different and obviously shouldn't affect the status of a game unless a team wants to use Covid as an easy excuse to cancel if they aren't gonna be near full strength.

Omicron is the reason. More contagious but also supposedly not as severe.

Much less severe. I still don't see these cancellations happening during the regular season. I don't believe vaccinated players even have to be tested if they aren't showing any symptoms. Seems like Texas A&M was one of the teams bragging about having nearly their entire team vaccinated as well

I'll never understand this line of thinking. Beating someone that's nowhere near their best means exactly what? If it's just a win hell let's move to the MAC. We can get all kinds there

I agree. You never want to make that statement in a bar Especially to someone who has not swallowed that mouthful of beer.

So does vandy but I assume tamu also won't get a payout so it lowers the conference purse
True....but a lot of times a school will spend all their payout on expenses on the team....family....spouses....boosters....band....big wheels etc....

I've read that at times it actually has cost UT more in expenses than what their bowl payout was....Texas A&M doesn't have to worry about that.

My good friend has it, hes 62, had both Moderna shots and booster, no symptoms but has tested positive.

With Texas A&M not playin in their bowl look for a lot of teams to follow suit. In my opinion one more team cancels and it’ll be like dominoes.

The only teams that have cancelled are ones that called me and asked if I was gonna watch and I said no. If anyone else calls, guess I'd better lie and say I will tune in.

Not going to cheer for the other teams players to get Covid. I'd much rather have 2 healthy teams and we still win the game.
I agree. But if they lose healthy players just because they choose not to play, then that's no cause for cancellation. Let's see who has the most capable backups, even if down to walk-ons.

I think Coach Heupel said that asymptomatic, vaccinated players do not have to be tested. I think unvaccinated and those vaccinated who have symptoms, get tested 48 hours before kickoff.

He’s probably referring to luck finally going our way. We’re not accustomed to this.

At this point, it's become a convenient excuse to cancel bowl games for teams with a lot of opt-outs and transfers, it seems. I highly doubt any of the bigger bowl games/playoff games are canceled or moved at all.

I'll never understand THIS line of thinking! Dude no one cares who they have out after the game is played. A bowl win is an 8 win season and continues to build momentum for our program. Think Vol fans care that we were playing a backup QB in Fiesta Bowl in 98? Nope! We got a NC and THAT is what everyone cares about. A win is a win.

I do hope you are correct. It does make sense. I am sure that the NY6 and playoff games will all happen, come hell or highwater.

They will probably covid out the next day or so.

While I think that's entirely possible, Brohm doesn't strike me as the kind of coach that would run from a game, even if he is outmatched.

The guy was a realy competitor in his college and XFL days, and he seems to have an old school mentality about him.
