MLB The Show

Am I missing out? I have mainly stuck with RTTS since launch.

Diamond Dynasty gave me MUT vibes which I usually end up not enjoying.

It's all I really play. Have invested a total of $0 into it, there's plenty to do to keep busy.

It's not nearly the overt cash grab the EA games are.

Someone said that you can time fastballs by your batters stride, and to swing as the foot hits the ground.

It seems to be legit but I'm also striking out more since I can't stop trying it

I've heard that to be true. It never really helped me much, though. lol.

I have officially become overrun with missions, too many going on at one time. I'm sure there's a lot of players I have with affinity missions that I've totally forgotten about

Hit an inside the park home run the other night with Didi Gregorious at the plate to win a final boss showdown with only 1 out to spare.

I still suck something awful but that is definitely my crown jewel in this game so far.

That’s awesome. My RTTS pitcher has thrown 3 no hitters that got broken up in the 9th so needless to say I am unhappy with this game right now lol

Showdowns infuriate me most of the time, but occasionally I can breeze through like I'm in a cheat mode. The reddit walkthroughs are a huge help

My RTTS guy is finally starting to get decent. Hitting is becoming more fun and less frustrating. I recently discovered something im sure you guys already knew but anyway, I had just been guessing the pitch and not the location. I didnt realize if you get the pitch AND location correct it seems to boost your chances of a base hit or HR significantly, the controller even vibrates through the pitch to add to the intensity. Its pretty satisfying sitting on a high 4SFB and absolutely obliterating it. Also getting better at base stealing which is fun.

Playing online I turn PCI off and hit better. Not that I'm good but catch mistakes.

Also reddit taught me to cut a 1"x1" piece of a kitchen sponge and pike a hole hug enough to put around left stick. Helps a ton if you instinctively pull down

I thought I turned a corner in hitting this past weekend. I changed the camera to strike zone, tinkered with the PCI settings a bit and suddenly I was stringing together games where I was knocking the ball around a good bit while maintaining good disciple at the plate.

Went online and proceeded to strike out 15 times on anything and everything remotely (and not remotely) close to the strike zone.

I know this is impractical, but playing Pro Yakyuu Spirits 2019 helped my hitting a lot. That game is significantly harder, so the game really slows down for you when you go back to the Show.

I'm glad people don't realize that if they threw me 81 straight curveballs in the dirt they'd have a 27 k perfect game.
