MLB 12 The Show

Thanks yall. Good stuff. Yeah the pitches are starting to slow down for me now. I quit 3 games out of frustration, which I really hated to do. I've just got to accept I'm not going to step up and hit a HR every time like in the Nintendo days lol. I'm actually getting better. I can't stand not being good at something so I'm trying like heck to get better. Might take me a few more controllers cause I'm going to throw this one around a few more time for sure lo

BTW Sony should really consider putting rubber bumpers or something on the controllers. I've got hard wood floors and one drop later they rattle like crazy.

I see what you are saying................but................in my experience, which is over 30 online games it has been very different. You have to play it like you would if you were actually playing the game of baseball. You have to watch the pitch come out of the pitchers hand and in a split second, you have to recognize what pitch is coming. Take your time, make the pitcher throw you strikes. Baseball is a game of individual battles and you have to win them each time at the plate. If the pitcher knows you will swing at anything, why on earth would he put it in the zone. There isnt a pitch you cant hit that is placed in the zone. My advice...take your time and make it a mandatory must to take the very first pitch at every at bat until he starts throwing strikes the first pitch a few times. I promise you will see better pitches if you wait and let him throw you a strike first. I also have had a different experience with hitting, YOU MUST GO TO YOUR SETTINGS AND CHOOSE LEGEND FOR HITTING AND HOF FOR PITCHING. When you have this set as your settings (Go to user settings in the menu and scroll down to "Online Challenge Settings" and Change the Hitting difficulty to Veteran and the Pitching difficulty to Hall of Fame. Do this for both the "Game Room" and "Play Now" options.) you will see a much better experience playing online. I hope some of this helps and will allow you to enjoy the show online more, because I absolutely love it.

What exactly does changing the settings do?

What exactly does changing the settings do?

These settings change how your game is played online. When you have this set as your online settings and when you go into play now, you host a game and those settings apply to both players. You wont hook up against someone who has a different setting. The reason for the vet batting setting is to make it easier to make contact with the ball. Vet is a very low difficulty setting and it helps with the slight hesitation you will have in your swing. The HoF setting for pitching makes it more difficult for you or your opponent to paint the corners and pitch like you are Nolan ****ing Ryan. Its not realistic to to able to do that, so the HoF pitching setting makes the whole online experience much more enjoyable. The settings suggestion came from Ramone over at SCEA(dev)

Aight, thanks for the little tidbit, I'll have to try it out.

I ended up getting a Vita and The Show. Watered down a little as expected but the game is still good.

Oh ok was just wondering how true the vita stayed to the system. Also, was thinking about this, how cool would it be if they added the dynamic of a veteran member of the squad helping you at time on the RTTS? Like you if you got called up to the braves and your rookie year chipper would give you advice/ xp points.

Nvm sorry man had no idea! I was on cbs fantasy monday and didnt even realize we were changin. Im setup now on espn and ready. Are we doin a live draft?

This has been my game lately, to start my 3rd season of RTTS I made it to the majors with the White Sox. I don't play much, but when I do I am killing the ball.
