3-County Pursuit Leads to Smuggler’s Arrest in Texas 160 Miles from Border

A suspected human smuggler is in a South Texas jail after leading police on a pursuit that raced through three counties. The pursuit began when the suspected smuggler refused to stop for a traffic violation and ended with the arrest of the smuggler and five migrants.

Medina County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop a white Dodge Ram pickup for a traffic violation on Tuesday, KENS CBS5 in San Antonio reported. The driver fled into neighboring Atascosa County where he drove through a ranch, stopping long enough to drop off four migrants.

The driver took off again and led law enforcement officers into Bexar County and the outskirts of San Antonio — approximately 160 miles from the Texas-Mexico border. The pursuit reached speeds up to 80 miles per hour, officials reported.

The driver turned around and led police back into Atascosa County where officers deployed spike strips along Highway 16 to stop the fleeing vehicle. The deputies arrested the driver, a resident of Carrizo Springs, Texas.

During a search of the Ram truck, officials found another migrant hiding under the truck’s toolbox.

The driver now faces state charges for human smuggling and evading arrest, officials stated. Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents took custody of the five migrants.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents encountered a group of 68 migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico into the Arizona desert. The migrants mostly came to the U.S. from Cuba.

Lukeville Station Border Patrol agents came upon a group of 68 migrants along the border fence west of Lukeville, Arizona, according to a tweet from Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John R. Modlin. The agents identified the group to mostly be citizens of Cuba.

Modlin reported the group consisted mostly of single adults and family unit migrants. Multiple Border Patrol agents and resources became tied up in order to transport, care for, and process the group of migrants.

Human smugglers utilized these types of groups in order to prevent Border Patrol agents from being able to patrol other areas of the border. Agents repeatedly told Breitbart this tactic enables the smugglers to move drugs or other high-value migrants across the border.

Texas Woman Charged with Driving Tractor-Trailer Carrying over 60 illegal immigrants

One migrant said they 'were going to die' from dehydration if police did not discover the trailer

A Texas woman faces federal charges after allegedly driving an 18-wheeler packed with illegal immigrants that broke down on a highway in Ganado, Texas, last week.

Police have identified the woman as Codi Denise Hartman. A Texas Department of Public Safety state trooper discovered Hartman's disabled vehicle, which was slightly open around 7 a.m. Thursday on Highway 59 and County Road 202.

When Trooper Alvarez stopped to assist Hartman, he first noticed four to five people walking around the trailer, according to court documents obtained by Fox 26 Houston. When police questioned her, she said she "she ran out of diesel" and was transporting "energy drinks."

SCOTUS Rules 5-4 Against illegal immigrant seeking to avoid Deportation, Gorsuch writes dissent

The U.S. Supreme Court voted 5-4 on Monday to uphold a federal appellate court ruling against a man who sought to prevent his deportation after being in the United States illegally since the 1990s.

Pankajkumar Patel, who entered the U.S. illegally from India with his wife Jyotsnaben three decades ago, according to court documents, applied for discretionary adjustment of status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency in 2007.

The adjustment, which would have given Patel and his wife green cards, was denied by the agency after it found he previously intentionally misrepresented his citizenship on a Georgia driver’s license application.

WATCH: Migrants Escape Mexican Police to Surrender in Texas Border City

EAGLE PASS, Texas — As law enforcement in Mexico and the United States assembled on both sides of the Rio Grande, migrant groups rushed across the river to avoid capture Wednesday. The nearly 50 migrants avoided Mexican police on a remote stretch of river that sees more than one thousand illegal crossings a day.

The joint operations commenced early Wednesday and involved state law enforcement and Texas Army National Guard soldiers. As authorities gathered two miles south of Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, migrants staging along the Rio Grande quickly entered the water and surrendered on the U.S. side.

Breitbart Texas captured video of the migrants crossing as authorities in Mexico arrived to begin simultaneous patrols.

New York Taxpayers To Pay $220 Million Next Year For Illegal Migrants’ Health Care

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul recently signed into law a $220 billion budget riddled with wasteful spending, including $220 million for free Medicaid for illegal immigrants and a $600 million subsidy for a new Buffalo Bills stadium, according to the New York Post.

Federal law prohibits federal tax dollars from going toward Medicaid for illegal immigrants, so New York taxpayers will pick up the tab for healthcare for up to 20,000 illegal immigrants living in the Empire State.

Texas City Considers Declaring State Of Emergency Over Border Crisis

Untitled-design-2022-05-19T123257.719.jpg

The border city of El Paso, Texas, is considering plans to declare a state of emergency over the growing border crisis, according to a Wednesday press release from city officials.

Deputy City Manager Mario D’Agostino shared the concern that the city council expects to vote on next week.

“We are extremely grateful to all our partners including the NGOs, the County, State and Federal leaders who understand the extraordinary collaborative lift that is required,” D’Agostino said in the statement.

The move is the latest in a series of events in the city concerning the growing number of illegal immigrants entering the community. Nearly 100 migrants were released into El Paso’s downtown last week as shelters and federal facilities reached capacity.

The report also comes ahead of the planned end of Title 42 next week. The rollback of the Trump-era border health policy could further increase the number of migrants crossing into the city.

A union leader representing U.S. Border Patrol agents is warning that ending Title 42 on Monday will give drug cartels full control of the southern border, The Daily Wire reported.

(CNN) Most Americans say now is not the time to end a pandemic-era border restriction that the Biden administration hoped to drop this month, but those who say it ought to continue are divided over how long it should remain in place, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS.

The policy, known as Title 42, was put in place by the Trump administration early in the coronavirus pandemic. It allows US border officials to immediately turn migrants who have reached the United States, including those seeking asylum, back to Mexico or their home countries because of the public health crisis. While a majority of the public (56%) favors allowing migrants from Central American countries to seek asylum, fewer (45%) say asylum claims should take priority over efforts to limit the number of people seeking to enter the country.

The Biden administration's plans to lift Title 42 in May were temporarily blocked by a federal judge in Louisiana. Efforts to roll back the policy were backed by immigrant rights advocates and some public health experts, but criticized by GOP lawmakers, as well by some swing-state Democrats, who argued that President Joe Biden lacked a clear post-Title 42 plan to handle an expected surge in border crossings.

Forty-three percent of Americans say it's time to end Title 42 and return to pre-pandemic procedures, while 57% say it's not. But those who say it's not the right time are split, with 29% saying it should remain in place indefinitely and 27% saying the government needs more time to end the policy.

EXCLUSIVE: Migrants Tire of Waiting for Title 42’s End, Surge Across Border into Texas

Whether Title 42 ends or not, migrants say they are tired of waiting and surged across the Rio Grande into the Eagle Pass, Texas, area of operations. As many as 3,600 crossed so far this weekend — eclipsing last weekend’s total of just over 2,800 migrant apprehensions in the Del Rio Sector — according to a source operating within U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Border Patrol officials called in all available agents in Eagle Pass on Sunday as increasing numbers of migrants crossed the border illegally from Mexico into Texas. Sunday evening, a large group of more than 250 migrants crossed near Normandy, Texas, while others streamed across into Eagle Pass.

Border Patrol Released Suspected Terrorist who crossed into U.S. illegally, ICE took weeks to rearrest him

EXCLUSIVE: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement didn't rearrest a suspected terrorist who was released into the United States by Border Patrol agents until two weeks after he was flagged by the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

The suspected terrorist, Isnardo Garcia-Amado, 35, was released into the United States by Border Patrol agents on April 18 near Yuma, Arizona, and given a GPS monitoring device as an alternative to detention, according to a memo from a federal source obtained by Fox News.

Garcia-Amado, a Colombian citizen, was then flagged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Terrorist Screening Center on April 21, which determined he is a match on the terror watch list.

Exclusive–Roger Marshall: ‘War Zone’ at U.S.-Mexico Border ‘Worse’ than What I Saw at Poland-Ukraine Border

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), one of only 11 Senate Republicans who voted against a $40 billion aid package for Ukraine, says the “war zone” at the United States-Mexico border is “much worse” than what he witnessed at the Poland-Ukraine border.

While visiting the U.S.-Mexico border over the last few days, Marshall exclusively told SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Daily in an interview that the “human tragedy” he has seen from human smuggling to drug trafficking is “the most threatening situation” facing Americans, not the war in Ukraine.

The humanitarian situation on the border troubles me as well. When you let this type of thing occur, women and children die, get raped and pillaged as well as this being unlawful.

Over 800 U.S.-Bound Haitians Accidentally Land in Cuba

AP22146040358731-640x480.png

A marine vessel carrying 842 Haitian migrants en route to the United States accidentally landed in Villa Clara, Cuba, on Tuesday, baffling locals in a country enduring its own mass exodus, the independent outlet Cubanet reported Wednesday.

Cubanet noted that Castro regime-controlled media outlets confirmed the news and that reports indicated many of the hundreds of people on board were children, “including newborns.” The Communist Party is expected to deport the Haitian nationals back to their country, where they may be free to attempt to escape again.

Haiti, the poorest nation in the Americas, has faced a worsening social crisis since the assassination of President Jovenel Moise last summer as he slept in his home. Nearly a year later, warring criminal gangs and crisis-level poverty, with little to no reaction from the Haitian government, have prompted swelling numbers of fleeing citizens, many of them attempting to reach the United States.
