Miller Chill

I gave up on this thread because it's titled with a Miller brand... Please. If I'm drinking cheap piss beer, I want it to be least unpleasant as possible, e.g. least flavor.

Anyhow, I'm counting down the minutes until I turn 21 and can get my Rogue Nation membership. I'm already an unnofficial member, Arrogant Bastard is the best beer I've ever had.

PS They are in Oregon, and make Dead Guy; I think that one is nationally distributed.

PPS One of the most hilarious things I've ever seen in my life. During my family visit to Nashville, I was talking with my uncle from Indiana about beer. I brought up Rogue and referred to Portland as the beer capital of the US. He called BS and said Rogue was possibly the worst beer he's ever had. He then went to pick up some PBR for himself and my grandpa. There's just some family genes you're glad you don't get.

Rogue makes some very, very good beers. My brother (a homebrewer and Vancouver, WA resident) is quite fond -- says going to the ale house is incredible and that tasting the varietals on tap there is as good as it gets. Some specialty stores around K-town and Nashville carry quite a few varieties, and Fresh Market usually has Dead Guy and (I believe) the Shakespeare Stout.

Not coincidentally, my brother has named his son due in a couple of months: Rogue.

On the subject of "cream ales:" Belhaven makes an excellent one -- my favorite when we used to visit the Flying Saucer in Memphis.

And then you see how hardcore Rogue drinkers, and microbrew fans in Portland can be. Knoxville has football, Portland has beer. Though I think he should change his unborn kids name... He does know that he's also naming his son after a chick in X-Men?

And ho, I sure would appreciate an ID. :) And not on the bottle, after about 45 seconds I glanced up to notice it's an empty Coors Light that she's trashing.

OK, Milo.....I bought a six pack of the "Rogue" Dead Guy. Cost me 10 bucks. It better be good.

Oh, and my quest to find Caffreys (Will fail, but I am going to try) First up, Smithwicks????? Will keep you informed, it's not a nitro, so I don't expect much.

BTW, Boddingtons is in no way, shape or form close to Caffrey's.

It was prolly Hohen who talked about it, but what about Hoegaarden (SP) and Hefeweizen(SP). I stared at them for a minute but they didn't speak back like the rogue did.

Thoughts.

Also, we need to trim the excess off this thread. Will a MOD please dispose of the Miller Chill portion of this, and give it a new name please.

What a great place to suggest different beers, a thread in the pub.

Has anyone taken beer school at Sea World or Busch Gardens? Hell yea they teach you how beer is made and how it gets scunky and you get to try many beers. Greatest school ever. All they need is a football team and I am in.

Never make it past the free beer counter so I have yet to see the brew school.

I'm not a big beer guy... I like to have a few Carolina Blondes, Coors, Bud Selects, Coronas or Harps every now and then.

Tonight I'm going to try Guiness so wish me luck.

NOt yet, I couldn't drink last night. I will let you know tonight. My kids don't like the bottle, said it was scary:lol:
Another scary bottle that holds some delicious beer:

OK Milo, you can have the Rogue. I am not a fan. It is good, but I cannot drink it regularly.

But to save face, I am not a big dark ale drinker. I have not found one I really like, but the dead guy wasn't too bad. Just different.
