Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

Your hero is getting his rear end handed to him tonight. Why would ANYONE want him to coach The University of Tennessee? You Leach fans have no sense of history...he is merely the "flavor of the week."

Does anybody seriously think he would have been a viable candidate last year? Of course not...which means that you want a football coach at our university because of only one really good year.

Football is not that intricate. You Leach sheep think he is some kind of genius...I am so sick of all the posts that he will bring "excitement" to Knoxville. No, he won't. At this point, the Emperor has not clothe...Texas Tech is down 28-0 in the first half. Where is all that offense that would dazzle the SEC defensive coordinators such that they couldn't stop it?

Forget the dazzle. Forget the one year wonders. He can't represent MY university. I want a solid man, who runs a solid program, that won't shift with the wind.

I've lived through the single wing, the T Formation, the Wing T, the Veer, the Wishbone, the West Coast Offense, the Spread, etc. Don't be fooled that a scheme can win consistently. Good players is the answer every time. If I have better players than you, I can tell you what play I'm going to run, and you still can't stop it.

Forget Leach. He looks like a deer in Oklahoma's headlights. What a goofball, and what goofballs you all are to think he could come to our Great University and lead us.

P.S. You heard it here first...Les Miles is the second coming of Phillip Fulmer.

You're absolutely right about this. You give a good coach enough talent, and he's going to run any scheme he pleases and kick your butt.

But win or lose tonight, Leach is a good coach. Seriously, he's gotten this team to 10-0 and No. 2 in the nation using the leftovers after Texas, OU and A&M got through picking through the talent in the state of Texas. You have to be pretty good to do that, and don't forget either that he's beaten Bob Stoops in two of the last three years, with inferior talent.

I don't necessarily want Leach at UT; I don't think he's the best fit for us. But the man can coach.

You answered your own post.... If you think Leach is playing with the same talent level as Oklahoma then there's nothing else that anybody can say. The scheme is not losing the game for TT... its the talent on the other side running it down their throat.

Pitt has way more talent than Cincy on both sides of the ball...next...

Yeah, because I mean it's not like OU has over 5 future draft picks playing on offense right now, and TTU probably has none on defense. (Bradford, Robinson, Loadholt, Iglesias, Murray)

Plus, it doesn't help that Bob Stoops knows the offense as well as Leach, because Leach was his coordinator for a few years IIRC.

OU is so much more talented, it's not even fair. Leach takes mediocre recruits and makes them play over their heads. He doesn't get the huge big name studs. Texas and OU both come and pick whatever players they want from Texas before TTU gets a shot.

If he's getting elite talent coming in (like Boyd, Stokes, Oku, ..etc) then his scheme can compete with anyone in the country on offense.

I'm not a Leach fan by no means, but I am sick of the one game judgments. You ignore the fact that he made a horrible team, the #2 team in the nation. If that's the case then there is not one coach out there that is good enough for UT

I am a huge Leach fan, but even I called OU to beat them by 20 tonight. Stoops is unbelievable, but I still think Leach is great and would love to have him. Let the bashing begin. . .

it is the 4 future NFL lineman and the one future NFL back, along with 2 future NFL wide receivers and one future NFL TE, and possibly a top 10 QB that is leading currently.

I love the OP, don't want to copy it all just to say that, but well done and I think there are a lot of people on here that agree with you and want a proven winner not some flash in the pants coach that has a lucky run with a good lineup of home games and match ups with UMASS.

Hey. On the brightside, at least Leach isn't clapping his players that just screwed the play off the field like someone else I know. . .

And I was correct. Just pointing out your silly argument that one game makes or breaks a coach.

It does, in a way, as soon as Todd Graham's Tulsa got spanked and Houston put up 70 on them his name disapperared completely from these boards. We can only hope Leach's will now.
