Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

yeah, because leach has a great history of recruiting elite athletes.

honestly, did you think mike leach was a good coach PRIOR to this year? answer honestly...

yes, as a matter of fact I've told people that Leach would be great in Knoxville for at least 2 years, however I also follow the Tech program closely, so I've been aware of his brilliance longer than most

Everything I have said is accurate. I agree and stated above that Tech has owned us in football during the Leach years. But once Leach is gone (and it will happen even if not to UT) Tech will fall again. Leach wanted to go to Miami but didn't get hired. He won't leave unless it is a top notch program, but he will leave. As much as it hurts to see Tech rise this year, it may be best because he is getting the national press that will take him away.

By the way, Tech has never won a Big 12 title in ANY SPORT!!! Nobody wants to go to that dump of a college. I grew up in West Texas. The only people that went to Tech were the retards that couldn't get into A&M or Texas.

Most of what you said was merely an opinion. You lost your credibility when you said Tech has no Big 12 titles in any sport. Actually we have 9, granted it's 3rd to last but we still have 9. That makes you an IDIOT. I could bet you right now that you aggots would trade your success in the "who cares?" sports for what Tech has in football. Leach was looking at Miami and conveniently Tech raised his salary. Looks like to me he was just trying to see what he could get out of Tech and from the looks of it, his new contract is probably going to increase two-fold.

BTW I couldn't have gone to Texas or a&m because I didn't apply to either. I stuck to Florida schools and Tech only b/c most of my family went to Tech. It just so turns out I really happen to like Tech b/c I fit in here. You obviously have proven that you fit in with aggieland with your nutcase comments. I hope Graham didn't hurt your feelings too much when he scored that final TD.:moon2: :)

Raiderville...You are correct and I apologize for comparing Texas Tech to Baylor...How silly of Me...But Your not much above them at all...You're bowl record is only 10-20-1...Baylor's is 8-8...Not that it means a hill of beans but You coming on here and laughing at the arrogance on this board when You come on here beating your chest and trying to fight with an Aggie fan on OUR board, Well it just seems kinda funny you coming here and telling US what to do like not using the pirate logo...If We hire him away at least He'll be able to raise a pirate flag with the VOL Navy which is something you wouldn't understand as it's called TRADITION...Now run along now and take that tumbleweed from college station with You.

you can't blame him for being a bit persnickity though. There's many Vols who want to take Leach away from them.
Were I in his shoes, I'd probably be a bit huffy too, considering what he's meant to the program

also, gotta take up a little bit here for Tech and Lubbock
You have to love their fans enthusiasm right now. Sure, everybody wants to look down their noses as students rushing the field, but I love seeing it. Their emotion and joy over that Texas win was genuine.
Also, just a personal opinion, but I've always had a fantastic time when I visit Lubbock. Beautiful campus and lots of fun. Also beautiful women. I ended up marrying one of them

Well let's see, we have more bowl wins than Baylor and twice the bowl appearances plus they don't even have an all time winning record, nor have they had a winning season since the late 80s or early 90s. Plus you forgot to mention the fact that Baylor was established 80 YEARS before Tech. BTW I wasn't beating my chest, I just found it hilarious how you are talking down to a school that has the current No. 2 team, and instead of saying that Tech might be on the rise, you compare us to Baylor...makes no sense. I give you an E for effortless. Congrats on your tradition, everyone has tradition...

If Leach goes to Tenn, he will be in and out in 3 years.

I am buddies with Sean Salisbury's kid; his uncle is one of Leach's best freinds- A couple things I was told:

- Apparently the UTAD has, in fact, shown Leach a great deal of interest

- Money is not much of a factor (or so he says)

- Leach is worried about competition in the SEC

- He said he probably won't leave Tech, but if he does, he is more likely to head to Clemson than he is to UT. It's not quite as prestigious as UT, but he can win the conference with more regularity.

If thats true, we definitely don't want him. Hard for me to imagine Leach admitting that though.

That's what I'm thinking. Where are all these coaches coming from who are all of a sudden afraid to coach? It just doesn't seem like a coach's nature to be afraid of a challenge, not a successful one anyway and not one we'd like to have at our university.

Can he work a cell phone camera like his dad?

I've written more than enough in support of Leach.

Here are some Kelly facts that you might want to consider. Or ignore. Or claim don't mean anything, unless they apply to Leach. And it's negative. Then it should count as everything.

And this is the guy who you all now want to hand the keys to at Tennessee?

This is him? This is the guy that we’re scouring the earth to find, waving more money around than a drunken sailor on leave…..this is the best you think that we can bring home to Rocky Top? This is your guy?

Really?

Oh, you say he’s “fiery” and “passionate”…..uh, ok. Does that count as points on the scoreboard next season? No?

It’s good to know, though, I guess. If you need to make a point, and don’t have the benefit of “facts” to support it.

Hey, if you can convince both yourselves and others that this is the guy that the University of Tennessee should hire as its next football coach – you’ve really pulled one off, because I just don’t see it.

Maybe I need to do a comparison of those who were “pro-Davis” this time last week, and those who are “pro-Kelly” this week. Likely, it’s just easier to just call them “anti-Davis”.

Freak, could you give this guy a blog spot? Nobody wants to read a post this long.

I don't know Mike Leach at all, but I can almost guarantee that Mike Leach isn't worried about the competition in the SEC. It's just not his style.

Leach could be a "bruce pearl" type hire, everyone initially saying "what the #¿uk" & then say "oh i see". But personally i dont think he will get the job. It seems odd to me that kiffin hasnt pursued the clemson job, seems like that interview was 6 months ago. Is that a sign ?

IMO, Brian Kelly would be more of a Bruce Pearl type hire than Leach.

Why would he be afraid of the SEC, when the Big XII is easily the best conference in the country now, and he's done decent consistently and now has one of the best teams in the country?

for some reason i get this strange feeling we r gonna get a coach no one has ever heard of before or is gonna be tyrone willingham D: :cray:
