Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

Leach is a loser & a nut,...dude is a weirdo. His offense will not work here,...very similar to that current loser OC we have,...why get more of the same?

We need to hire JIM HARBAUGH,.....keep Chavis and as many other coachs as possible. The defense is doing pretty good,...FIX THE OFFENSE! Harbaugh will stay @ UT for decades,...then go to the pros,....right now I'm watching him give So. Cal all they want & he is doing it w/some poor athletes. JIM HARBAUGH FOR TENNESSEE!!!

Not saying I don't agree, because I don't think Harbaugh would be a bad coach, but we really don't know how to judge him just yet.I would give it a couple more years before hiring him so we can see where he stands.

It's difficult to say who best fits what UT needs.

When it comes to recruiting, Kiffin takes it.
When it comes to Offense, Leach takes it
When it comes to Defense, Davis takes it
When it comes to assistants, Kiffin takes it

I can't pick a favorite anymore, with Gruden being out of the picture.

How can you say his O wont work here? Its worked every where else he's been. Nut/Weirdo is just like the Fulmer haters and their KK/Great pumpkin comments. And I called for Chavis & Co. to go before Sanders. How you liking JH now? Gave USC all they wanted for 1 half. Leach is lighting it up with minimal studs too. Give him a top program in a top conferance and he will have recruites from all over to have a shot in the league.

I haven't figured out the "Leach's offense won't work in the SEC" argument...

How come it worked at Kentucky? In Leach's second year (of two) at UK...the offense scored 431 points in 12 games...at Kentucky. For comparison...Tennessee scored the same amount in 13 and won the National Championship.

Leach, who is unable to get the good recruits out of Texas to come play in Lubbock, will somehow convince those kids to come play in Knoxville. That seems really likely.

while i understand and agree with your argument, I bet if he stays in lubbock he will steal a few recruits from Texas, OU, Ok St, aTm, etc the next few years.

if tech wins out i think they would steal a few of those recruits away from the teams they are recruiting against. i think every hcs have seen better recruiting classes after winning a nc or at least showing the program is in real contention for one. usc, ou, texas, lsu, florida, osu all these teams have seen excellent recruiting classes and still do after winning a nc, proving themselves to be the elite programs in the country. tech cannot even begin to compare with programs like these and i'm not trying to knock the program or the city but they just do not compare. facilities alone cannot even compare to the programs like these.

im not sure leach will be next hc for ut but what he is doing this year with the recruits he has is very impressive to me. if tech were in the north they would almost have the north wrapped up every year for the last 4-5 years. his record overall is good, not great, and there are candidates with better but he is a strong consideration for the job.

How would Fulmer fare recruiting kids to come to Texas Tech?

Davis could put together a better staff and out recruit Kiffen. Why? Because he's a proven winner. Kiffen has done nothing even remotely close to what Davis has done.

I understand everyone's argument about Leach's recruiting, but if you can't coach or develop your talent, you can't make it in the SEC either. I will not be mad if we hire this guy, but he is not #1 on my list. Regardless, I hope this hire is done soon and it is the right one.

That is true. But you also can't win big in the SEC by just "coaching up" moderate talent. You must have elite talent to compete againt Saban, Meyer, Richt, etc.

I agree... I just hope it happens soon because I can't stand to see Florida or Alabama win a NC while we are battling to stay out of the cellar against vandy and ky.

guy on the radio just told John and Jimmy a radio station in Austin is reporting that Leach has been given an offer by UT. He gave them the number to contact the radio station. Could be nothing. Could be something. You never know.

Heard it on the sports animal. The guy listed the radio station and guy who is reporting it in Austin, TX. I'm no longer next to a radio, anybody heard anything more about this. I'm sure right now Leach would say no but just wondering
