Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

ok question and if its in 1 of these 70 pages about the guy I am sorry, but what's the deal with mike leach and pirates??? It seems the guy is fascinated by them. Just curious, and Hat I understand where you are coming from to an extent, but why don't you want the guy in knoxville??? Do you not think he can score in the sec, recruit, etc?

yes he's already did it in the sec that was my point a decade ago. He made Couch the first pick in the 1999 nfl draft,as their OC then. :eek:k:

I don't let one excellent season obscure the fact that Leach has been an 8-4 quality coach for the first eight years of his career.

In fairness, it isn't exactly a power program that he took over, and that is a helluva division he is coaching in. That being said, I pretty much agree. That offense is incredible though.

understandable, I mean I think the guy could either send us to the top, or keep us at around a 7-5 team. Its a make or break hire with him. Personally, I would like Butch Davis, I feel he gives us the quickest turnaround, but if Leach somehow can hire a DC or recruit defensive kids, then I believe he can be very effective. All of this though has remained to be seen.

The offense is incredible, but at times OU, Texas, Okie State, and Missouri have appeared unstoppable. Even Kansas and Kansas State have showed some firepower. The defense in the Big 12 is just terrible. OU is scoring 51ppg, TT 49, and Texas 47.

Kiffin...5-15 as head coach...How people could even THINK of him over Leach is just amazing....Amazing...The man had his kicker attempt a 70 yard field goal while at Oakland...Talk about unstable...No, We do not need that at UT...We got enough problems as it is...Leach is the man for the job...Period

Davis is Fulmers age now. I dont want to be searching for a new coach in 3 yrs, after Davis calls it quits. Leach or Kiffin all the way,and I have a gut feeling Kiffins the man anyway.

I'd be fine with that. Davis would stockpile the kind of talent UT hasn't seen in 10 years. When he left, we'd replace him with the best candidate available. Hell, maybe Gruden will be ready to leave the league by then.

Ok so how do you know he wouldn't do a F#$k you to Mike Hamilton and the good fans of UT?...Like I said, who needs that?...If he's that immature then let him grow up first...I am now actually getting nervous Hamilton is going to hire him.

It's possible. After he wins the title, which could be soon,he wont have the drive as much that he did when he first arrived.

That kind of attitude only works for lazy bums. Nick Saban is a competitor. Besides, he's already won a National Championship.

I'd say if Mike Hamilton called him multiple times in the middle of the every game and told him what play to run, then that might happen.

Until this fluke season, all he had done at Tech is tread water.
