Ok is there anyone at your house over the age of 9 who can read at a 2nd grade level to explain what I said?...Wow
We didn't need a entertainer, but a coach that would bring us back tp where we need to be on the SEC. You are right, we did get the right coach. Give CJP another couple of years, and he should have the VOLS where we should be. GO VOLS[/QUOT
While I do see that Pruitt is seemingly doing things better, I still don’t get why some people are saying he will return us to championships . We really still have nothing to base that on other than perception at this point, and likely still won’t until the season after this one. I appreciate the positivity don’t get me wrong.
Get back with me when he wins the PAC 12.
Read my post above and let me know whether you would accept that record after game 2 of his second season. He took a 2 star QB and got him into the NFL. He can develop talent, especially on offense and has done so at a school with a fraction of the resources we have. At this point, I'd take a coach that knows how to at least win 7 or 8 games a year over the worst start to the season in 30 years.
The fact that Currie didn't speak to Leach until after his ridiculous attempt at hiring Schiano was blocked by the Vol faithful, and after going after Dave Doeren also shows how bad he was.
I still cannot believe we almost had Schiano as a head coach. It's embarrassing
Is the guy even coaching anywhere now? Seems like Currie had plans to get an ill equipped coach PAID.

I don't know if any of the Mike Leach JS chasers have looked at his record at Washington State, but you might want to. He was 3-9, 6-7 and 3-9 in his first three years. Do you think he would be given three years at a 12-25 clip with your butterfly mentality? He was 4-10 in his first 14 games, but some of you think he is better. He has only had TWO (2) double digit win seasons since 2000. Not exactly National Championship material.
I'm surprised people would want Leach considering he went 3-9, 6-7, 3-9 in first 3 years in the PAC 12.......
I mean people are already wanting to boot Pruitt after 14 games.

Yeah I don’t understand the criticism of Leach. I’m on record as saying I don’t know if he’d fit in a fishbowl like Knoxville, but he’s proven that he’s an excellent coach. To be fair Leach walked into a much worse situation at WSU than JP did at UT. WSU was 39-66 (.37) in the 8 years prior to Leach's arrival. UT was 76-44 (.63) in the 8 years prior to JPs arrival.
His record at Texas Tech is considerably better than the coaches that came before him or after him. Of six coaches there since 1981 he's the only one to never have a losing season. Went to a bowl game every year (10 straight).
Both teams are performing well above their historical averages with him as HC.
If he did that here then yes people would want to boot him. No reason to believe he would - WSJ was in way worse condition than UT.
