For the recruiting gurus, I'd be interested to know if TN only signed the Top 25 players from the state of TN, where that class would be ranked? My guess, WAY lower than the current class, WAY lower.

It was an odd year. Not as much talent as we thought. We did miss about 5 guys for different reasons. Some just because they didnt fit for various reasons.

Those 5 would be: Redmond, Hill, Jelks, Mathers and Robinson. All SEC caliber guys but not all misses on our part. Maybe throw in Kimbrow as well.

Our talent started dropping off when Fulmer started signing more in-state guys. The bottom line is that TN is not a good high school football state. I think it's getting better, but we are way behind. Not enough good coaches and the TSSAA has too many stupid rules.

Just not true. We arent GA or anything but we have 5 to 10 SEC caliber guys each year.

Of course, but of course no one would want to do that. However it would surprise most how high it would still be.

Mike is the voice of Fulmerites everywhere. Nothing will be right in Big Orange Country until the Vols humble themselves and beg Fulmer to return... at least in MG's eyes.

just looked and you have to go all the way to #6 in the state to reach the first 4*. What a worthless eval

He's just butthurt because he got voted out of being the girls softball HC position this year. Now he's backup bench coach.

And an equally irrelevant statistic...

In the current Top Ten recruiting classes on Rivals, COMBINED they have a grand total 3 committments from recruits from the Tennessee... one 4 star to MI, one 3 star to MI and another to alabubba.

Jovon Robinson and Brandon Hill are the only 2 TN prospects we missed out on that I would like to have on board.

Griffith has told me that he isn't even a Volunteer fan; only follows UT. He said he is a UNC fan. With that said, he is always cynical in his posts and tweets.

And now I officially hate him. Clearly he doesn't know a damn thing about football if he is a Carolina fan.

This thread is precisely why Griffith tweets this kind of thing.

and it's par for the course with the Knoxville/TN media. They don't want to put the time in to do any real research or writing so they throw out crap like this to get clicks. Unfortunately his boss will just look at it and say "MG generated X amount of traffic today" and think he's successful.

32 also boasted on air a few weeks ago that UK and the Gators would blow UT off the court.....

I never follow any link to Clay Travis' website or click on any Griffith article just for that reason, even if it sounds interesting.
