People should use as many sources as possible in building knowledge, and ruling out one of the state's best papers makes you look like the idiot.
Trying to pass the News Sentinel off as a good newspaper doesn't exactly make you look like MENSA material.

They'd be more impressed by factual reporting in newsprint than thoughts of unrealistic and unconnected fans on a message board.

If they are so terrible and a joke, do you never look at it and get all your Tennessee coverage from another source? If so, you're one of the most misinformed people on this board, not to mention ignorant. People should use as many sources as possible in building knowledge, and ruling out one of the state's best papers makes you look like the idiot.
Yeah, if I didn't read the KNS I wouldn't know what a great contributor Steve Pearl was going to be. I wouldn't know that green jerseys are to blame for the quarterback problems. If I didn't read the KNS, I wouldn't be able to read two day old NBA boxscores.

Obviously they're not impressed by their own product then, unless biased, football program-suckling drivel also impresses them.

How much of a fact is Steve Pearl's greatness? There's a reason Griffith is stuck working in a third tier market making next to nothing. He has no talent. I tend to find that reading people who actually know something, like Andy Katz or Dick Weiss, is far more worthwhile.

"Unconnected?" I guarantee I know a hell of a lot more D-I basketball coaches than Griffith.

Pearl finds a way to get on the court during games. He does get playing time. Andy Katz and Dick Weiss are clueless when it comes to the day-to-day news of Tennessee basketball. But why would you want a complete picture of the team when you could just be clueless? It makes so much more sense, and yes, seems worthwhile for the clueless.

All I can say is John Adams doesn't usually seem that biased towards certain areas of UT football

I'm still waiting for you to list any story Griffith has ever broken. When a Sportsline writer based out of Memphis is breaking the Negedu story, that tells you all you need to know about the quality of the KNS beat writer.

Daniel West for starters, Griffith was the first to post the news that he would be ineligible for the year. You can look it up.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your impact on the game and your coverage of the game has been legendary.
You're the one making idiotic assertions about who is "connected" and who's not. Please tell me what Griffith's presence at practice has added to his coverage? The fact is simple, he's a bad writer at an equally bad newspaper.

He's also an LSU homer who doesn't need to maintain contacts within the program like Griffith does. There are a select few writers on staff who don't suckle at the UT athletic department teet.

Ask vol_freak and kiddiedoc when I told them West would be ineligible. It's not like it was a state secret.

Hat's posted some pretty decent interviews on this site. Impressive for a guy that isn't getting paid to do it.

Lots of folks on this board are privy to information before KNS releases it.

Just because someone hears something, it doesn't mean that it is publishable material. There is something called fact checkers.

That doesn't stop people from publishing about who they hear is getting a look at being our next coach. I knew Fulmer was canned nearly a week before it was reported.
