The 97 team didn't have a 1000 yard rusher or 500 yard receiver. UM won cause of defense.

That defensive unit still holds the "title" for fewest YPG and PPG in the B1G since 1985 (228 YPG and 9.5 ppg). They set the NCAA record for fewest yards per completion and allowed no 4th quarter points or 2nd half TD's in 8 of their 12 games. DeBord's offense did enough to not lose games, which wasn't hard when all you had to do was score 10 to win.
Tyler Bray and the 2011 Vols couldn't do it against Kentucky, when 10 would have gotten overtime.

I've been on board through thick and thin. I have gone more than 15 years without missing a single game. Home road or bowl. If they laced it up, I was there. I've missed weddings, funerals, birthdays etc etc etc just to watch this team play. I'm willing to bet there are fewer than 1 or 2 other people on this board who can make such a claim. I'm here to say that if we make this hire.....it will be the straw that broke my back. I'm sick and freaking tired of crap hires like this. Look at who our peers are getting....and the best we can do is this guy. I'm serious. If this goes down....I'm done. If the program isn't more dedicated to winning that that.....I'm not going to be as dedicated at watching them.

/rant.
Look at the bright side. You can attend weddings, birthdays, and funerals now.

Can't help but think about this year's Florida game. Is Bajakian that much better?

Edit: I know a body of work can't be judged by one game so I have to cut Jake some slack. Especially when you look at the cultural and talent changes he helped make while here.

...But damn that loss hurt

If Debord is the guy, then who are we to degrade this hire? From my understanding, Manning, Gruden and Fulmer were involved in the process...That's two Superbowl winners and a National Championship winner helping decide...That's enough for me to be comfortable with this hire...Coach Z was what I was in hopes for, But maybe it just isn't the right fit at this time...

That Woodson guy....

no, no, we traded our OC for the guy who supervises Women's field hockey at Michigan. At least according to Bob Mueller, who isn't the real Bob Mueller.
Oh, it's the real Bob Mueller alright. He has that disclaimer by his picture to throw everybody off.
If you were the real Bob Mueller, what would be the best way to hide it? That's right! Tell us that you aren't really Bob Mueller. Well, we aren't THAT stupid, are we?

Turns out he is actually Robert Mueller (Bob for short), former director of the FBI

Why are some posters crying and saying they are done with the program when this is not official? Not even close to official actually. Grow up.

Maybe when Butch Jones said he was "humbled" by the calls he got about the OC position, he was being sincere.

I say that because 99% of the time people in athletics misuse the word humble. They usually mean to say flattered. Humbled implies the direct opposite of what most people are trying to say.

Well, maybe he really meant humbled. Humbled meaning that literally no one worth a damn called so he settled for DeBord, because that would be truely humbling.

LOL. it's a typo. Something not at all germane to the facts at hand which are as follows

1) This hire would be a joke

2) You have nothing of substance to say so you stick to looking for typographical errors.

As an aside, there are numerous volumes of published research showing there is no correlation between grammar and intelligence. As a matter of fact some research points to an inverse correlation.

Just saying...have fun with your superior grammar and sub-par intellect

And 06 at Michigan they were 26th in the nation in PPG and contended for a National Title. That was the year that UF "sneaked" into the title game when everyone thought OSU and UM were the two best programs in the nation. Maybe his offenses aren't remarkable statistically but they seem to post one impressive stat and that is wins.
