hate to lose Azzani, good recruiter, not excited to see this old retread, rather have arizona coach, or ND QB coach, and debord(hope we aint board) offense is nothing like CBJ

Losing azzani for damn mike debord. Man that stings. Impressed ol butch so much at he didn't even interview another candidate. Not the greatest of strategies when conducting business.

Does anyone at least know if this was the only interview ? Is the above correct ?

I thought Butch is the one that gets it? Does he not know & not get it that this is a bad move for the team according to all of the VN posters?

This is an epic failure.

Hiring a coach that has been fired and been out of coaching for three years.
Butch just jumped the shark.

I guess that the head coach should not be allowed to hire whomever he pleases? He must clear it with the fans, or face tough questions.

Give it a rest. We the fans fund the damn football program. He could at least have the decency to explain his "process" whether the hire is viewed as good or bad.

Hope the media asks Butch and Dave all the hard questions at the podium regarding this hire then. I mean, I don't expect them to answer them straight, just give a bunch of typical colloquialisms, but I hope they are asked.

You can bet your arss they will not ask the hard questions......

nothing about why did he become an admin?

why has he been out of football for two years?

how will he relate to the players since he has not coached coached football in 7 years?

when did he teach/coach the spread offense?

recruiting contacts?

nope not going to ask those questions....

the bottom line is that if this is the hire then it is about Butch doing the guy a favor....

laughable for big time college football - and it will be Jones arssss when the train goes off the tracks......

Offense will be more balanced and o-line will get the attention it needs to improve. Short yardage game will improve.

Driving the field and actually scoring won't be boring.

OK, not searching threads for hours while info is still coming out. What does the Nation thin of Debord, and why would Azzani leave, thought this staff was like "Family" ? Looks like to me the family doesn't like the fact that bUTch is getting all the credi

t and they get the blame left over. I want to hear all different opinions as I know nothing about Debord.

Michigan fans want Debord as far away from the gymnastics program as they can get him. Sorry thats all I know.

Somebody tell me why Debord is a bad hire, other than he got fired (all coaches get fired)and why he was out of football so long ?
