Me too. I think there's a bunch out there that want everybody to predict/expect gloom and doom so everybody can hope to be wrong.

Does it really change anything to hope to be wrong vs hoping to be right?

Most if is would be fine with 121 winning out. Even though it would mean more time with CBJ as HC.

In the voice of Dory. Just keep winning. Just keep winning.

Dear Abby,
The twins watched Nemo about 1000 times as toddlers. Now that they are 4 they discovered it again for the 1st time. It's as if they have never seen it once. How will I ever find my mind again?

Send help,
Signed
I'm losing my mind over Finding Nemo again.

I've seen 121 play great football in short bursts. There is no doubt in my mind they can come out and dominate any team in the country.

Being inconsistent is the issue. Fix that and we have a great year.

Is it Canales fault as QB coach, that his starting QB continues to throw off of his back foot?

I don't know if he'd be any good at play calling, but so far he'd lacking in the ability to get a certain QB to throw off his front foot....

No offense intended, but I don't think we've been watching the same team.

C'mon man...he probably buys PBR, calls it craft beer, and drinks it through a straw. Then he blames his hangover the next morning on the straw and the guy who sold him the beer.

Post of the day so far

There are two other thoughts in the post you quoted. Did you not read those along with the one you put in bold?

Yes I did and I respect that. IMO, when the rubber meets the road, at present, we just aren't a good football team.

I swear you must be a Vandy fan or something. Why would anyone wish this on another human being? If he gets fired for poor performance, so be it, but nobody should hope that he breaks down on the sidelines just because you don't like his coaching. That is just flat wrong.

Hey. I never said I wish it would happen. I just said it wouldn't surprise me if it happened. Guy is under an immense amount of pressure. I swing back and fourth from feeling bad for him to reminding myself he makes $4.5 million a year. Lolol.

That's how I feel as well. I feel bad any time someone loses their job, even if they are incompetent, but with Butch I have to remember that even when he gets fired he still gets $7.5 million dollars if he doesn't pursue another coaching job.

Then I feel nothing for him again.

"badly"? Is there any other kind of loss?

In this case, yes. The worst possible outcome would be a close loss. If that happens, the pumpers will claim yet another moral victory and Butch may have bought some time. Best case scenario is a Vol win but if we're going to lose, Georgia needs to run us clean out of the stadium and leave no doubt. It's "$hit or get off the pot" time.

Haha. I dunno. He seems a bit like a pretty boy. More of a micky ultra type. But hands out PBR to all his guests and tells them how good they have it, getting a beer that's won awards in the past for excellence. Then he will go on to explain to the 'common folk' about how micky Ultra isn't anything but PBR in a different bottle. And if anyone questions him, he will tremble slightly, then explain how children are children and parents have them and negativity is unbearable, enough is enough. Stop the hammering. See you Wednesday, go vols.

Because of inconsistent play. As bad as we have been we have been just as great. Cut out the bad and replace with more great and we destroy anybody.

But yep, they have to do it.

I understand where you are coming from and totally disagree.

I still don't understand why we still go with an OC who isn't also the QB coach. Butch is dead man walking

Sound reasoning, haha. I was thinking along the lines of Blue Ribbon = "Champion of Beer". At least nowadays he has a large trash can in which to ice down the keg.

Canales will be OC next year. Scott will take over at A&M as HC.

CBJ is about to start churning out HCs. I wouldn't be surprised if Shoop ended up somewhere as a HC next year.

Go Vols!

Obviously, since Shoop has been such a spectacular success as DC here at UT..

When you hire guys like Shoop you must be ready for them to get an HC job. Having a replacement on staff is smart, even if you hire someone else.

Like Debord before him Scott is not that dad of an OC and Canales is not that bad of a QB coach. Canales had a couple of failed attempts at OC, so him as OC may be questionable.

I watched the umass game last night. The oline was a bit lackluster in the first half but did better than I thought.

In the second half the umass DEs were crashing down the line and catching the runner from behind. We should have adjusted. But perhaps didn't want to show the adjustment.
We brought in JG instead.

We wasted 2 sets of downs getting him going and had a dropped pass on his third series.
When QD came in in q4 we had really bad field position, so we went conservative and wasted the game away.

If we don't bring in JG I think we would have scored 2 more TDs in the third quarter. I looked at one point in the game an QD was 75% passing.
We were holding back a little.

Our D is not playing too bad. We will see how they fair aginst good team. BTW the sec east can't be be too bad if Ga is ranked 8.
