I hope you're right. All the signs of a sinking ship are there. I hope he doesn't get an extension, so that buy out will decrease even more.

We've seen the last 3 years that Lyle's coaching deficiencies hurt the team in a massive way.

I'm hoping for a coaching change, but dang if he manages to get any type of raise/extension.....Tennessee could be in trouble.

It's on the players now. They know CBJ can't do it by himself.

The question is how slow can a ship sink?

I think the players save CBJ's job and get him an extension due to all the games they win this year.

I bet you hope I'm right.

Look at his buyout - doubt anyone would be surprised if he stuck around another year. It may be in our best interest to wait a year as well. This years best candidate - Chip Kelly - is a complete pipe dream.

I think it would be wise to wait another year, even if Butch wins only 7 games. Certainly better than settling for a lesser coach like we did with Kiffin/Dooley.

This is coming from a guy who has pretty much lost all faith in Butch. I still think we'd have better success with higher quality coaching candidates if we waited a year.

Canales will be OC next year. Scott will take over at A&M as HC.

CBJ is about to start churning out HCs. I wouldn't be surprised if Shoop ended up somewhere as a HC next year.

Go Vols!

I've always said, it helps to have a sense of humor if your a Vol fan:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

Tennessee is 117th out of 129 in rushing defense. Last in the SEC. Honestly who cares about passing the ball when our senior linebackers and cornerbacks struggle with basic tackling. Talk about an easy exploit... Heck even UMass, who is primarily a passing offense, ran the ball a majority of the game. Also we know the story with GTech - most rushing yards EVER given up by a Tennessee team. Yeah let that sink in...

We are looking at the worst rushing defense in modern UT history.

I agree, just look 2 posts up..........this is baddd, and GA is a rushing team.

Our DB's coach will still be able to go where ever he wants. I hope he is retained if there is a coaching change. This guy is legit, and is on the rise.

Has he really helped the secondary? Will your answer be different after the Georgia game?

It would be a bummer if Ga broke out the triple option on Saturday and cut block every player on our defense.

Yeah that's not going to happen. Maybe a wildcat formation. They will be keen on protecting Fromm, no chance in hades that boy gets called for a triple option.

Our program is primed to do great things. CBJ got us there. It's on the players to put in the work(make better use of their free time) and win the games.

CBJ will be around a while. We have a talented team. They just have to get it together.

If my answer is different we got MAJOR problems. Our passing D is 11th, their passing O is 112th.

If we get destroyed through the air (thins game) this season could go to heck in a hand basket......as our running D is already about as bad as it can get.

Once again, Seriously?? You're watching the guy make moronic decisions week in and week out for the last 3 years. He lost to friggin Vanderbilt and South Carolina with his most talented team. Who coaches the players. Jones makes Les Miles look like Bill Snyder with how badly Jones mismanages players and does less with more.

You acting like we played solid games against those 2? Lead a horse to water. At some point the players have to make the play.

Call it whatever, but this isn't a Butch only issue. Sure he's the big cheese, but there more to it than that.

The players haven't been getting the most from their free time. They need to work more to get better.

Sumlin ain't gonna make it. 121 pours it on. Everybody looks like a genius.

I think our defense turned the corner from a mental standpoint. We have always had the talent, but it's never clicked for 60+ minutes. I think now it will starting with Ga. With a solid D, 121 can make some noise.

Vol LB's need major improvement, we'll know more after Georgia that's for sure:good!:

If you haven't seen the signs of greatness, it's because you aren't looking. Sure, it's easy to see the ugly(there has been so much), but when we are clicking, 121 sure is fun to watch.

Line em up. 121 will knock them down.

Go Vols!

How many times did we run in the red zone against Florida? Why are we playing the worst tackling linebacker in the SEC?

Signs of greatness? We are seeing the signs of many turds in many different punch bowls. We are seeing the signs of the wheels coming off.

RB is the only position group that is playing at a championship level. Only 1 glaring mistake(due to the outcome of the Florida game).

All others need to raise their level of play.

I like our chances.

No doubt turds in a punch bowl are more noticeable than quick scoring our offense is capable of, and the way our D can come up with a stop.

All they got to do is put it together.

All this drama will get our guys more focused on football.

If we lose this game badly, at home, with Butch having a 4 year head start on Kirby Smart...

AND

Butch Jones is still head coach Monday morning....

I am seriously not watching another game all season. Won't happen. I'll go spend my 2-3 hours Saturday doing something else. The players and the fans deserve better. Chip Kelly is just out there in the world someplace hanging out. Waiting for his phone to ring. You don't miss on a coach like Chip Kelly while he's unemployed and you have a loser nancy-girl for a coach. You just don't make that mistake.

If we do, I'm going to feel some kinda way about that. I'm going to feel cheated on for the 3rd straight time lolololol.

"badly"? Is there any other kind of loss?

All of them are bad. I agree.

But when you just completely botch simple football stuff, and it loses the game for you...that's a bad loss. It's a loss where you could have just done basic things to win a tough game, but failed to do so. Like running on 1st and goal from the 1....then passing it a couple times. That's a decision that's going to burn fans asses for awhile.

If we lose this game, I just honestly want it to be a blow out. At least I'll know what's going to haopen instead of think there is a chance for 4 qtrs then getting the dagger with 3 seconds to go like we did against Florida.
