How does Florida end up with the biggest jerks for coaches, I mean every time, its like its mandatory for the job.

Someone needs to figure it out or get us out of the SEC. Step one is stop living in the past and stop pretending that having nice facilities leads to having a great football program.

Some people at the top better stop reliving their glory days and see about creating some new ones because no one cares except them.

Man that’s hurts. But so much of it is opinion. It all comes down to coaching. Florida has been able to hire better coaches than us. Point blank. But it’s all cyclical. At some point Tennessee will get a good coach again. Bama was Tennessee a decade ago. They’d been through something like 5 coaches in 10 years (one of the coaches never even coached a game because he got caught with a hooker at sec media days) and they were right at .500 for that 10 year stretch. Eventually though...they got the right coach and the rest is history.
The part of the article that’s absolutely correct is that we’ll have to fire Pruitt and that fulmer is a total freaking idiot for extending him last year. Fulmer should be fired before Pruitt. And that should happen right now. Then Pruitt can follow. The thing that I’m so stressed about is for the first time in a long time there an incredibly successful coach out there available that wants the job. In fact...he’s called the job his dream job. How the hell have we not already hired the guy?

I do think the right coach can achieve great things at Tennessee. But, I don't buy the cyclical argument anymore. This is the record of Tennessee's head coaches going back to 1977 (Majors) against the big 4 that currently or used to appear regularly on Tennessee's schedule (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Auburn). I included the wins and losses for 1992 and put them on Majors record since I don't know who gets credit for what. So, Fulmer win-loss totals are 1993 until 2008. There are six head coaches. Only Fulmer has a winning record over any of those 4 teams (Georgia and Alabama). Kiffin also has a winning record over Georgia at 1-0. That's it.

Majors vs....

Florida 2-4
Georgia 2-3
Alabama 4-12
Auburn 6-7-2

Fulmer vs.

Florida 4-12
Georgia 10-6
Alabama 10-5-1
Auburn 3-4

Kiffin vs.

Florida 0-1
Georgia 1-0
Alabama 0-1

Dooley vs.

Florida 0-3
Georgia 0-3
Alabama 0-3

Jones vs.

Florida 1-4
Georgia 2-3
Alabama 0-5
Auburn 0-1

Pruitt vs.

Florida 0-3
Georgia 0-3
Alabama 0-3
Auburn 1-1

I find it ironic how he completely overlooks the fact that Florida was in just about the same situation as us a few short years ago. They were able to come out of it, but Tennessee never will? Really???

Of course, this also shows how important a head coach hire can be to a program. Bargain-basement hires lead to bargain-basement results.

Loved this part, Florida treated this like a scrimmage
“It shows where our program is at when it’s 31-7 as clean-up time starts and we say it’s not one of our great performances,” Mullen said. “... We have to not give up the two garbage-time touchdowns they [Tennessee] scored at the end, but overall I’m pretty pleased.”

I think that's what he was hinting at. GROSS mismanagement of the admin and AD..

Didn’t read it all but read enough that while true, nothing we didn’t really know.
Especially the part where Fulmer paid double the asking price for CJP and then bought the useless extended warranty 2 years later.
But I never agree with anyone that says Never, will be/ gonna happen or won’t happen.
Nothing is beyond reason in college football
What? Look at what you posted.

Spot on and shows what a pathetic joke we’ve become. This is the worst shape I’ve seen the program in my lifetime and I’m on the cusp of 50. Tell me I’m wrong

No, Fade, you are not wrong. And the pathetic thing is? Whatever person or persons making short sighted decisions up there retires or passes away? This clown show is just going to get worse. I think it is the Kesling curse, because it has been on a down hill slide ever since he replaced John Ward. JMO, and apologies to those who like him.

Well, not really.

He is wrong about one point. If Florida could have scored 50 points on us, Mullen would have. I fully believe that. Wait till Alabama gets hold of those gators.

I'd wear a Sarah Fuller jersey if her game winning FG led us to hiring Hugh Freeze this offseason....

Honestly, if this is the only scenario to get Fulmer’s attention, then so be it.

Losing to a winless Vandy team will get everyone’s attention and I don’t mean that in a good way.

True. But Florida hired a proven winner. We hired another bammer throw away. Didn't with with Uncle Sal and it's not working with cornbread
