Middleton?

Because they fought the best in their prime. Floyd is an unbelievable business man. He made a ton of money in boxing when most people assumed boxing was dead. Sugar Ray Leonard beat several worthy opponents without running. Ask marvelous Marvin

I keep hearing that...
"Didn't fight guys in their prime."
Moseley...PacMan...are his age or younger.

Have you considered his style is just hard to beat and that he makes people worse than they are?

All you can do is fight them, and he has. He beat ALL of them. Maidana #1... he lost imo if he didn't have the advantage of already being Champion. But that's the only fight he legit probably didn't win.
You have to watch his bouts in slow motion to appreciate how soundly he defeats his opponents.

Boxing is about hitting and NOT getting hit.

Then why was he so adamant about ridiculous drug testing rules in the first go round with Manny? You realize that is why the fight did not happen? And no one is saying he isn't talented. But Pretty boy doesn't scare anyone. He is a cinch for dancing with the stars.

Hahaha.

Man...it's just not that simple always.
Some kids have learning disabilities but can still ball.

Floyd Mayweather can't even read at a 5th grade level but he's maybe the best boxer ever...

Early education is crucial and some kids just never get that. Broken homes..broken school systems...etc

Passing you the tissue. And as to Mayweather, I stopped following him when he stated letting Dustin Beaver tag along.

So you would deny a NFL career to someone beause they struggle with Calculus?

It is asinine that the NFL doesnt have a developmental league and uses the NCAA as its feeder system. As long as getting a shot in the NFL requires attening college, grades of lack thereof mean zero to me.

And busting your ass all year to perform at a high level for a chance to go pro isnt having anything handed to you.. if the self righteous ones amongst us had to endure as...le coaches, miserable practices and small minded fans on social media for jusr a month, im fairly certain they would change their tune about how easy an athlete has it.
they did. NFL Europe- Tee was in the championship game one year and Casey Clausen spent a few years there.

Problem is every single attempt at a feeder league has failed. Hell even the Arena League has gone bankrupt. Literally the only league outside of the NFL that’s not constantly trying to stay afloat is the CFL.

The other part of the problem is money. The NFL is not the MLB. There are twice as many players on the opening day roster. Owners don’t really want to spend the amount of money needed to run a minor league system. Too expensive.

The game is also much more violent and your shelf life isn’t as long as in other sports. Let’s say next year Tim Jordan goes undeaftes and instead of signing with a scout team goes to the new minor league NFL. Let’s say he needs two years before he’s signed to an NFL squad to take over a starting squad. He’d already be 25 or so years old and the team would be worried about how much is left in the tank.

On top of that, you aren’t going to make enough money in a feeder NFL system that’s worth it. The reason the Arena League lasted as long as it did was because it developed an identity separate from the NFL and was completely independent financially. Players aren’t going to play in a feeder league long enough because they are going to have to supplement their income out of season because most likely a minor league NFL system wouldn’t have a budget to cover the travel expenses and the salaries wouldn’t be high enough to cover the constant travel.

Because I've seen them fight, and I've seen Mayweather fight. To be honest I doubt he could lay a glove on Ray Leonard in his prime, and he couldn't match the power of Ray Robinson.

And Ali, in his prime, was literally "The Greatest". Even after his best years were wasted, he still fought wars against the likes of Foremen and Fraizer.

Boxing today isn't what it used to be, because of MMA. Actually, it had taken a bit of a downturn even before that.

Just my opinion.
