Hardaway won't make it. He doesn't seem to be able to control himself and at some point will get himself in trouble with both Memphis and the NCAA.

Maybe with the NCAA, but not with Memphis State.... If the school were to step in a can him there would be riots on and off campus and other bad type scenes ( like burning mattress, and the such, ha ha) in around the campus as it lies right in the center of,,, well lets say "less than a stellar area of the "great city of Memphis".

All the flopping should be put into one tape and shown all over and all future games they play will be watched a lot more closely by the refs.

The refs can't be happy about them making a mockery of the games and fools of the refs!

That was the worst I have ever seen!

The problem I have with the coverage from the 2-3 stories on this is that not one outlet challenged whether or not Penny's statements were accurate regarding the "balled fists".

Regardless, PH is stoking up a rivalry that should never have gone away (Thanks Pastner) and I'm okay with it. PH may have better players in the long run, but I'll take RB outcoaching him every time.

Tennessee wishes it had the success in basketball that Memphis has had. 2 Runner Ups, 3 Final Fours, 6 Elite 8s, 11 Sweet 16s vs 1 Elite 8, 7 Sweet 16s and a "we beat Florida 3 times in 4 years when they won back to back championships" and a "we beat Kentucky the year they won a National Championship". And before you get up on your high horse about "vacated" seasons and cheating, you might want to listen to the Keith Easterwood and Tony Harris podcast from last week that tells the story of how Tony's uncle and family "sold" him to UT when he wanted to play for Memphis.

Yeah I totally wish we had 2 runner-up trophies, a losing record to our cross-state rival, and an immature, dishonest, glorified AAU coach with a sub 90 IQ...

You realize UT only played Memphis once prior to 1988? Wonder what that record would be if they played during the 70s and 80s, when you know, Memphis was going to Final Fours and Sweet 16s on the reg. Barnes scheduled this 3 game series when Tubby was the coach. Would have been easy pickens of 3 wins and in roads to Memphis recruits. Hell, if UAB and Wichita State could beat Tubby out of Top 75-100 Memphis kids, surely Barnes could. Landscape has changed. You understand the hilarity of pooping on 2 runner up finishes when your school's greatest accomplishment is an Elite 8?

Do you understand the hilarity of constantly beating your chest about success in a tournament you've never won?

Tiger High has vacated 5 of 11 Sweet 16s and 8 of their conference championships. Bless your heart.

I checked the NCAA record books. Memphis has 1 Final 4 and 1 Runner Up (They cheated the other 2 times). If you look back at the last 20 years (an entire generation) and look at NCAA tourney wins, average KenPom rating, UT has been the better program. Those are what they call Facts.

Regarding Harris, anyone with common sense realized that Harris was bought and paid for. I'm not oblivious to the fact that Pearl was probably cheating as well but if you look at Memphis's history the last 45 years, 90% of the successful periods have been when they had a coach that was cheating (Kirk, Cal). Easterwood has been providing illegal benefits to recruits for decades and many of those players went to Memphis.

This is what Memphis fans say to Vols in Memphis. They brag about tournament runs, yet no championships to brag about. Tennessee and Memphis have the same number of championships in basketball.

Memphis doesn't even lead Central Avenue in Memphis in NCAA titles. Christian Brothers University (a D2 school) has 1 compared to Memphis (0 in all sports).....

Flopping? It's called smart basketball to counteract a larger opponent that habitually lowers their shoulder and pushes off.
There’s a difference between trying to draw a charge and throwing yourself 20 feet backwards into another opposing player. We’re going to be getting some good laughs from these for a while.

You don't have 2 runner ups. You have one. You were caught cheating and had the other one taken away.

Yes flopping.

And I don't disagree it wasn't somewhat smart because no way Memphis was going to beat UT straight up, but don't do it and then turn around act like a little b**** when you're called about it Penny.
