Well there's a positive side to everything. If protesters spread covid, they are unable to keep up protests - a win for the Cuban government. If people die from protest driven covid, they are no longer unhappy campers - a win for the Cuban government.

Something tells me these new "Covid deaths" will remarkably resemble gunshot wounds.

Kasie Hunt announces she’s leaving NBC, reportedly heading to CNN

NBC News correspondent and MSNBC anchor Kasie Hunt is leaving NBCUniversal after eight years, and is reportedly heading to CNN.

According to a report from Variety, Hunt who hosts “Way Too Early” on MSNBC and serves as a Capitol Hill correspondent for NBC News, is decamping for CNN as part of the network’s aggressive push into streaming.

The Jeff Zucker led-CNN is currently in hiring-mode in order to beef up its push into streaming. Citing an unnamed source, Variety said CNN offered Hunt an annual salary of between $1 million and $1.5 million that NBCUniversal could not match.

CNN has high hopes that Hunt can play a central role in growing its streaming efforts, adding her political reporting bonafides to pivotal news stories, such as the presidential elections, the report added.

CNN boss Jeff Zucker, former king of morning shows, can’t fix ‘New Day’ disaster

'Ratings for ‘New Day’ are shockingly low, almost at the point where they are merely collecting viewers who are randomly cruising through a channel lineup,' Jeffrey McCall said

CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker rose to prominence overseeing NBC’s "Today" during the Matt Lauer era, but he’s failed to replicate the success with his network's long-suffering morning show "New Day."

"Zucker masterminded a successful run for ‘Today’ at NBC … he was less driven at that time to force ideology into every aspect of programming. The ratings for ‘New Day’ are shockingly low, almost at the point where they are merely collecting viewers who are randomly cruising through a channel lineup," DePauw University professor and media critic Jeffrey McCall told Fox News.

"New Day" was supposed to emerge as CNN’s flagship morning program, akin to NBC’s highly successful "Today" but with edginess that could only happen on cable. Broadcast production trade publications fawned over the elaborate set design and CNN even enlisted pop music superstar Alicia Keys to perform a promo jingle ahead of its premiere.

But Zucker’s attempt to create a popular morning show at CNN has been disastrous. "New Day" has never averaged 700,000 viewers for a year and is on pace to finish with fewer than 200,000 viewers among the key demographic of adults age 25-54 for the fourth straight year.

Eight years and multiple lineup changes later, the show has struggled to remain relevant and has attracted less than 500,000 average viewers for 11 straight weeks. Cuomo, Bolduan and Pereira are long gone, and longtime co-anchor Alisyn Camerota was recently replaced by outspoken liberal Brianna Keilar, who now shares the anchor desk with John Berman.

Good. Close down that network for their continued showing hate for america & reporting the made-up lies towards conservatives with different opinions on how to better guide/run the country..

Reuters winning friends for their unbiased non-agenda driven reporting. Again.

Reuters slammed for saying Cuban protests 'risk exacerbating COVID-19 spike'

Oy.

The newsroom staff at Reuters are simply sharing the comments from PAHO, not promoting, demoting, or editorializing them. The article is worded in such a way that a reasonable observer with young adult level reading comprehension skills could easily tell that the reporter writing the story was not trying to sway the reader in any direction.

I showed this article to both of my children and asked them to describe what they read. Both my 12 and 10 year old properly diagnosed that the news story was reporting information from PAHO and not taking a side whether it was accurate or inaccurate.

Either there's a bunch of commenters with access to Twitter who are complete idiots but somehow merit blue checks, or there's a bunch of commenters with access to Twitter who bank on their readers being largely illiterate.

Ya think it'd help if he recruited another "dog" like Lauer who's chasing the secondary talent like Savannah..... you know, like "Love Island" except throw in a little news to spice up the morning. It's amazing that all these "scumbags" they had to fire for "improprieties" took the ratings with them.

That's not exactly what I said. There's a difference between active news accounts and accounts that just comment and opine and stir the pot.

Also somewhat worth a head-scratch that there's pushback against a clear, well-written article on a site that frequently lauds the work of opinionated trash writing filled with slang, epithets, and derogatory language.

Wait, I'm wrong. Makes total sense.

At this point I’m not sure you know what you’re claiming yourself so your last sentence makes complete sense to me also.

Comedian Bill Burr rips 'f*****g Morons' at CNN for Obsessing about Donald Trump and says 'they want Darth Vader to come back' to Save Their Ratings

  • He said, 'They want Darth Vader to come back because they got nothing to talk about because it's show business, and Joe Biden is a f*****g bore'
  • CNN's ratings have plummeted since Trump left office
  • Last Thursday, CNN Didn't have one show that topped one million viewers
  • CNN's 57 percent drop was the biggest year-over-year prime time loss among the cable news networks
Bill Burr has branded CNN 'f*****g morons' for continuing to talk about Donald Trump and claims 'They want Darth Vader to come back' because Joe Biden doesn't bring in viewers.

The comedian hit out at 24-hour cable news networks, and especially CNN, in a three-minute, profanity-laced rant on Thursday's episode of Burr's 'Monday Morning Podcast'.

'I can't believe people watch that channel,' Burr said. 'They want Darth Vader to come back because they got nothing to talk about because it's show business, and Joe Biden is a f*****g bore.

'So now what do they do? They’re doing what they did the first time to get this guy elected by giving him all this free coverage while they act like they allegedly don’t like him. I don’t buy it. They are a corporate news channel.

'They’re f*****g treasonous un-American pieces of s**t, just like Fox News, MSNBC, just like all of them. Just like f*****g all of them.'

REPORT: Post-Fox News Shep Smith Plagues Staffers With ‘Temper Tantrums’ At Failing CNBC Show

Former Fox News anchor Shepard Smith’s new CNBC show has been plagued with low ratings, and anonymous sources allege that Smith throws “temper tantrums” on a regular basis, according to the left-wing outlet The Daily Beast.

Smith clashed with prominent Fox News hosts, including Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, which ultimately culminated in the anchor leaving the network abruptly in 2019. In 2020, Smith began hosting “The News with Shepard Smith” on CNBC. The former Fox News host was reportedly offered a salary of roughly $5-$6 million – around $25 million less than what he was reportedly paid at his former network – and CNBC chairman Mark Hoffman provided Smith with a large number of resources, allegedly fostering resentment from the other talent at the network, according to The Daily Beast.

CNN Ratings Are in the Basement So Now They're Going to Do Something to Make It Even Worse

763525b1-6817-4b27-aac5-4eaed2007251-860x475.png

We have to hand it to CNN.

With their ratings in the basement, you might think that they would re-evaluate what they’re doing and change what they’re doing wrong. Of course, that would require some self-reflection and not being completely in the tank for the Democrats. They could go back to what they used to be once upon a time, long ago — something of an objective news network. Then people might actually watch them again.

But instead of that, instead of actually being a real news service that people might want to watch, they’ve come up with a new gimmick. Except the problem is, it’s just more of the same old gimmick. They’re going to debut their own subscription streaming service called “CNN+” next year.

“Much anticipated?” Anticipated by whom? Can we report this tweet for misinformation? Twitter Support, hello?

So they’re investing a ton of time, money, and resources to have…more of the same thing that people are already not going for on regular cable? And they’re going to demand more money for it, too? Oh, this is going to end well. Which is to say, it’s going to completely tank the network and that will be good for the world. It’s sort of hilarious how Brian Stelter pitches it as somehow new and revolutionary. They can’t even come up with a new or particularly attractive name: CNN+? They’re going to make you pay extra to hear the same things repeated over and over again on a streaming service?
