Eh.. the players said after the game they took it easy and thought they could coast to the win after the half. Coaching staff had them ready to play.. 300 yards of offense in 2 quarters with your backup QB on the road is not bad.

38 unanswered points.. drops mic... :eek:lol:

I think CJM is a fine coach. I don't think there is a coach on the planet that could have stopped our fight and effort in the second half.

I agree with your second point:)

Time will tell on the first. My opinion on McElwain is based more on his team's progression (or lack thereof) during last year's season.

You have to think to yourself, when exactly during that 38 unanswered points ass kicking did UF realize that "they were coasting". It's a poor losers excuse for getting absolutely manhandled.

Probably sometime after the 6th consecutive 3 and out

This and realizing your gassed up front and falling down to try and catch your breath.

Tennessee beat them physically and mentally.

What were they doing when Tennessee went up 24-21?

Still taking it easy I guess.

Don't recall anyone at Tennessee saying "they took it easy up 13 with 7 minutes left" last yr.....oh no, that was a great Florida comeback but this year, Florida "took it easy"...bull****

Florida was clearly the worse conditioned team that Tennessee has played this yr. They began cramping up late in second qtr. Despite all the media love for their coach, I sense a coaching problem. Hes a good OC but letting the inmates run the asylum this early in his program isn't good and its never good at Florida.

Your players are classless chumps with no heart.

That's weak and salty as hell.

Hah.. I get, I get it.. go ahead pile it on. After 11 years, I would too.

However, I'm just posting what the players said after the game. After the first half.. it's hard to say 'the coach sucks'. Would have been different if they hadn't played great to start for sure.

I'm rooting for the Vols to go on and win the east and with UGA being down, it looks like you guys will do just that.

Sounds like you're ok with your players "explanation" for getting Butchslapped in the second half Saturday? I will tell you this right now and I said it last year. You guys will be screaming for a different coach at the end of this season. I don't think he's very good.

I am okay with it. I said before the game that I wish they would keep their mouths shut, and this is why.

Florida still has a good team, and we'll see if they have learned their lesson. I was very happy with how they played in the 1 two quarters. I wasn't sure what we would get iwth Appleby, but it's good to know he's serviceable without Del Rio. Not making an excuse here.. with how the defense played in the second, it wouldn't have mattered if Del Rio was playing or not.

Coach McElwain isn't going anywhere.

For as long as I remember we've always been a team that's lived and died with talent and a simple game plan. Usually it worked, recently not as much. We have never been a team that made any real adjustments after half. Sure we'd throw the ball around more or maybe blitz less. But no big adjustments at halftime. With the addition of Shoop, it is worlds different. Makes even Deboard start dialing up stuff he didn't know he had. We are a different team after the half. Exactly the opposite of last year. That was the difference, we adjusted our plan and personnel, and our players imposed our will upon them. They tried to adjust, but were either unprepared or unable to do so. Their plan went off the tracks. As Mike Tyson would say, they got punched in the face. Ultimately that's on the coaches and it doesn't bode well for Floridas future. As for the trash talk, they will live with this failure the rest of there lives (just a little bit). Tabor will see that juggling catch TD in his dreams. By allowing it to happen, CM hurt his team and yet again failed coaching 101. This loss is squarely on the coaches. Good luck Gators!

I can see why you think that.. but you can't deny they were running the show in the first half.

Doesn't matter now. Vols win big and maybe now the Gators will play with humility. :good!:

Humility and Gators don't go together--they're azzholes.

I was impressed with Appleby. Kid played a good game for the most part. At mi i um he did what UF needed him to do. The O line really folded on him in second half (or our Dline took over depending on your shade of glasses).

It's too early to tell if it's on the coaches. I know you are hoping that it doesn't bode well, but it's just too early to tell that. We will have to see how the rest of the year plays out.

Agree with everything else you said.. punched in the face? More like flying roundhouse kick. I think it will be good for them.

:

Running the Show? We dropped 6 routine catches, got inside the 4 yard line twice and came away with nothing. Don't get me wrong, Florida had a good plan coming in and exposed our weaknesses on defense. In no stretch of the imagination did Florida dominate us for any quarter, we shot ourselves in the foot.
