McCoy May Return For Arkansas

Seeing yall root for him not to return this year is so bizarre. Obviously he’s not coming back until he is medically cleared. If he doesn’t return once fully medically cleared then **** him

This is why I think he will play. Yes, I know there are handlers/agents telling him to sit. But in the last few weeks, it’s become clear that he’s not listening to them. He’s working to play. AP said as much on a podcast.

Yep on this mornings podcast AP said that he is pushing to get on the field but hasnt got there yet. He said that he thinks as soon as he gets through a team period playing in practice that he will be back on the field game day. The question i guess is whether he gets cleared to go full contact in practice this year . Could go either way.

the most important draft factor for him is to get healthy and prove it by whatever is available at the time. If he passes all tests and can play this season, I believe he will. If he doesn't and can't play, then he is left with the combine and pro days to prove he is healthy, He can only travel the path that is available when he can execute. At the end of the day, I expect him to move on after this season. His health will determine if we see him on the field or not.
100%
If he were my son, I’d want him to sit out and blow it up at the combine.

Of course, my dummy son would suit up no matter what just to beat Bama’s commie ass.

I see that point but as a GM there is no way I am handing a guaranteed signing bonus over to any player I haven’t seen acruslly play and take a football hit post injury. I would go 3rd maybe on an elite player but I am not going 1 or 2.
You work him out in combine or workouts and see him change direction, etc. Then the team doctors look him over to see if there is swelling vs the other knee. By the draft season, the issues he’s having with swelling will be over. He might not be worth a top 10 pick, but a good team willing to let him ease his way into things will snatch him later in the round. Jameson Williams was drafted pretty high by Detroit.

Hubbs said on the podcast today that “no help is coming” when they’re discussing the secondary.

I haven’t finished the full episode yet to know if he ever directly references McCoy or Gibson. But that seems telling

If we lose at Bama, that makes us making the playoff very unlikely. If that happens, he probably shuts it down and doesn't try to come back. If we're in the playoff hunt at the end of the year, I bet he tries to come back and play the last 2-3 games.

Alot of us care for his well being and taking care of his Family first. This defense is what it is this year and we likely still have 2 more losses even if he plays. It makes more sense for him to sit out and be a high 1st round early 2nd round draft pick.

If Tennessee finishes 10-2, they will very likely make the playoffs just like last year so no losing to Alabama doesn’t end the season

This would be a fair take if things still worked the way they used to. That however is no longer the case, Mccoy is making more money this year even if he sits out than many poster's here probably make in there entire life. I think him and his family are well taken care already way beyond the average standard of living in the state of Tennessee. This new concept of we must pay the players but they also can make a business descision for themselves and bail at any moment is ridiculous and players should get pushback on treating it that way.

Never fear.

A&M gonna A&M

They don’t call em Texas 8&5 for nothing.

They're getting into the hardest part of their schedule for '25, but 8-5 is very unlikely. 2 losses are probable (TX and LSU). Their defense is playing at a high level right now and will bail them out if Reed and the offense are not clicking.

He could do that and if things don't go well. Just playing under 5 games he could come back as a red shirt. If he dropped in draft projections.

This.

UGA will be ahead of us. Probably A&M also. And Bama. Then Ole Miss.

Last spot up for grabs is between LSU, UT and Mizzou.

We would get in over a 10-2 Mizzou. For the record I don’t think Tennessee or LSU finish 10-2, so it’s likely irrelevant. We will likely lose to Alabama and Florida unless Napier is fired and they tank it the rest of the way. LSU is dreadful offensively but their defense will keep them in every game

5. 5? You serious Shirley?

I think we’d need a lot of help. There will likely be more 10-2 teams in the SEC alone this year and we won’t have any great wins.

With the amount of teams that still need to play each and the amount of teams that already have 1 loss, it's pretty unlikely there will be that many 2 loss teams. They would all have to basically split with each other, plus win all of their other games. The odds that scenario would play out is very low.
