McBride

There seems to be a lot of Shoop apologists out there, but I gotta tell you, other than Sunseri, this is the worst defense I've ever seen at UT. This man couldn't hold a candle to the chief. He is not even up to Jancek level.

Amazing how a top 10 DC can go to trash when he’s being micromanaged and handcuffed by the head coach.

I turned the game off after WB came out the first time. The context of the situation ticked me off. I wouldn't have been angry if he just left JG on the bench because he's too injured to play. Then, yes, the #2 should be out there no questions asked. However, trotting JG back out there infuriated me because Butch potentially burned his rs for 3 plays. That's stupid. There is no justifying that. Anytime a quick, clutch decision needs to be made, it seems that Butch usually makes a stupid decision. The smart thing would've been to call a timeout and assess the situation. I don't care what happened later in the game. In that time, at that moment, he made an ignorant decision. I'm so over seeing him on the sidelines.

You know, you're right bro, and I'll give you a like, but have you noticed how Penn State hasn't missed a beat without him?

Seriously, I'm no BJ apologist, but what real evidence do we have that he is a micromanager versus a poor evaluator of coaching talent.

This idiotic choice of coordinators probably did him in. Fulmer--Clawsen, Dooley--Sunseri, Jones-- Larry Scott or Shoop?

Well you need to pull it together because JG want able to continue shortly afterwards

I picked up on that. I hate it for him. He's getting killed.

To my point though, you really think Butch appropriately assessed the situation and made the correct, informed decision? Hindsight is great and all...

Shoop had freedom under Franklin. Also, it was well known Shoop had full control over the defensive staff. He also wanted to bring a few guys but was turned down by Butch.

Had it been for 3 plays ?..... it would have been a horrible call.

This is a nonissue...I know. Last comment.

You know those movies where a bomb is about to go off and the hero has to make a quick decision and cut a wire, either the red or blue one? Imo, Jones cuts the wrong wire every time. I think he usually makes bad decisions in the clutch.

There. I'm done. Time to eat more candy.
