THIS. Mcbride is the 2nd string QB. He needs to go into the game with the mindset that he is going to play and be ready for it..not whether or not he may lose his redshirt.

Completely sucks but was inevitable. Guantanamo was never going to make it the entire season getting pasted ten times a game. We will see more of Mcbride, book it.

This is such a non-issue.

(1) The talking heads act as if McBride is dying to save his redshirt...all the super-type-A freshmen I ever knew were dying to get a chance to play, and really really didn't want to redshirt. Feels kind of like being told you have to repeat 7th grade because it's good for you. So I doubt Will McBride's feelings were hurt (his parents, well, they may have felt a bit different).

(2) It was only 3 plays in the first half of this game, but how many more plays will it be in the 2nd half? Guarantano sure doesn't look good for another 30-50 offensive plays. And beyond tonight, what about next week? The week after? After that? Who thinks Josh will be 100% healthy the rest of the season? Really?

Bottom line is, the 2nd string QB is next up, and almost every 2nd string QB in college football gets in from time to time. These mouth-breathing talking heads on TV are idiots piling on a "dead man walking" coach.

Non-issue.

A wildcat package with a guy who never takes a snap would be the perfect offense when you have a center that either rolls it along the ground or centers it sideways half the time.

If I were a betting man, I put money on McBride playing the second half. JG just didn't look like he could go and be effective. Hell, I don't think it's right to put him in a situation where he can't defend himself. I'd start McBride in the second half. JG might be out for more than a half. Wonder who backs up McBride if he goes down?
