His redshirt was ALREDAY BURNED, He is your number 2 QB. He was ready to play. All that was left was the formality. Stop listening to ESPN.
McBride is the #2 QB. The #1 QB went down. Whats the problem here?
What the hell you talking about? He had not burned his red shirt until that da move by botch. We could have run the wildcat, or brought in the hire guy. Trust you haven't heard the last of this stupid move.
Except when he goes down, you don't immediately know it's just going to be 2-3 plays. You can't predict that nor can the training staff. They have to evaluate him first. That isn't an instant process
How do you know wherever he'll be in the tent 2 minutes or 30 minutes?
Lord, you guys are drama queens.
I am pretty certain Butch is gone at this point. I am sure I want him gone, too.
But when Sheriron Jones left, McBride became #3. When Dormady got hurt, McBride became #2. Guarantano practically crumpled on that QB kneel to end the half. I guarantee we haven't seen the last of McBride this season. He's the next man up.
With our O-line you can about guarantee it. So it's time to move on about the redshirt.
If Butch had done it if we were 8-0 right now, not one of you would be crying over it.
Fun fact- Butch has been asked this like crazy for past two weeks. He should have had an easy plan in place. The minute JG goes down, you pull wildcat for 2-3 plays while running out the play clock before snapping the ball. That gives you about 2 in game minutes on top of the original play stoppage to get an idea if hes done for game or if hes coming back. So easy to do.
Its not rocket science folks.
You don't know it's only going to be 2-3 plays. And it's a one possession game that you can't afford to lose. You don't take the chance of losing a drive. You put in whoever gives you the best chance to score.
