Maurer...

Brian has had a hamstring issue and covid issue.Bringing up his personal problem has not one damn thing to do with his ability to qb.In that huddle, the team would follow and play for Mauer.Just your basic stupidity and lack of decency. If his problem would be,Junior Seau was a f****ed up linebacker that no one should have allowed to play. Leave personal problems be personal.Like your continuing bedwetting.

I’ve tried. That’s how he plays. He doesn’t fear anything. In fact his senior year I asked him how he felt about playing Alabama every year before he committed. His response: “Screw Alabama! I ain’t scared of a rank!”. But you’re right. He does need to learn that the best ability is availability. He’s just never gotten hurt before and last year WAS a freak accident that he’s likely to never see happen again

I sure hope not to see that again! I do like his intensity.

I get it. It’s hard to wrap your head around that a coach would put personal feelings ahead of a team. Especially when that coach has millions of dollars at stake. However it happens. Kirby did it with Fromm and the effects of that decision are showing up now. Last week Alabama curb stomped them and I’d have a hard time believing that would’ve happened with Justin Fields at qb and now Georgia gets to watch Ohio State compete for a NC as a result of THAT decision.

I believe JG is a good kid. Dedicated. Loyal. A hard worker, and a really good practicer, but he lacks the mental game to compete at this level.
I believe Pruitt is trying to reward all of his other good qualities rather than talent or ability. I think he thinks he’s teaching responsibility and quality characteristics to his team. Work ethics by sticking with JG.

Hopefully BM gets the start this week. He has been trying to catch up to the other QBs for weeks after missing time...but he has also started games for us last season, so the coaches know he is able. Unlike any folks here who want JG to play against Bama just out of fear, Bama doesn't have a dominant defense this year like they had in years past. Also, BM took his beating last year and isn't scared to play

Here's hoping that he starts on Saturday. This team is tired of JG sucking...and its getting obvious. Wonder how Coach feels when the ENTIRE crowd BOOOOed JG on saturday...then gave Shrout a standing ovation...just for taking the field???.
That should be a wakeup call. Should be.

Well it appears, jg has gotten all of the snaps or most all of them in practice, it was stated before Sat. game Bailey had only gotten 10 snaps all year and that was in a scrimmage the weekend before, so Maurer has got none, that only leaves two, Shrout and jg. And from the reports I have read jg has got 100% of snaps in practice with the ones. That is in no way how players are to compete for the qb job. It appears again qb position was not open for competition. And the whole team suffers from it.
Nobody is attending practices for the last couple of years, so who is seeing JG get all the snaps? Also, the scrimmage was a 50 play scrimmage with HB getting all according to JP during weekly presser last week. The reality is that no one is fully aware of how they are divvying up the 1’s & 2’s, and who is running with those units. We are all sick of mediocre QB play, but that’s where we find ourselves in week 4 of this Covid season. I’ll go in the record and say that we likely have a new starter for Arky (timing is much better).
I’ll also admit that I want Brian to get some time this coming Saturday (he won’t be scared).

That was what I was afraid of, JG being appointed the starter and no one else being given an opportunity to take it from him.

That lesson is coming with a hell of a price tag,the team quit against Kentucky. If he wants to keep his job he will play the best quarterback he’s got, and that is not the 5th year senior who’s turned the ball over 6 times in the last 6 quarters.

I totally agree, but I kinda think that’s what’s happening here.

Perhaps, but what puzzles me is you can say the same thing for lots of guys on the team and maybe every walk-on. It’s almost like how he performs during tough games is discounted. I’ve never seen anything like this.

Everyone is upset about the favoritism shown toward JG but the more confusing decision is to give Shrout all the 2nd team reps instead of Maurer or Bailey... what a waste of time
I gave you a like because obviously I agree with your comment but I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of time. Shrout has some talent if he can get settled in. But we all know that’s not going to happen for anyone not named JG. I personally look for whoever comes in to know they’re on a leash ONE mistake long and THATS what’s going to cause the mistake. It’s amazing how much better a qb can be with confidence that his HC is behind him. JGs a lucky man.

Maurer is a gamer and I would be depressed too if the coach kept playing JG over me. Players play and something bout Maurer I love. Want him to get a fair shot at UT before he leaves and lights it up somewhere else
Maybe Pruitt will exhaust every fiber of his options at some point this season so that can happen. Who knows? 🤷‍♂️

Why the hell is no one mentioning him? I mean I felt that the dude gave us a good spark last year. Has a dual threat to him. I’m just confused on why everyone is on the Bailey train and just forgetting about Maurer.

It's my understanding he's out with a hamstring injury. I may be wrong...

Injury prone, potentially concussion prone. RPO QB while Chaney and Pruitt prefer and pro style offense.

That's about all I got. Most of it is conjecture.
