It's very possible and it's further evidence the NCAA is on life support and a replacement, at least for football regulation, needs to be a conversation the school admins have ASAP.
Several "self regulating" conferences with a mishmash of different rules about scholarships, visits, payment, etc is unworkable. It's chaos if a conference dares the NCAA power and says "we're openly going to stop abiding by NCAA recruiting restrictions and start contacting players at other conferences with monetary offers."
Can the NCAA respond? Will anyone be in charge?
