Matt Rhule

Could anyone honestly enjoy coaching the Carolina Panthers? Would he listen to a UT offer? He has experience coaching both sides of the ball and has been a recruiting coordinator. It’s a little far fetched, but could it work?
Does anybody really enjoy being Tennessee coach these days? It's an impossible job.

Hell , if we are throwing out totally outlandish ideas of things that will never happen....Belichick has to be pulling out what little hair he has left coaching Cam; he surly would come to UT to put out the dumpster fire! Sorry, dumb thread

Matt Rhule just started a seven year $62M contract for a team where he's about to be able to help pick his own boss. With a top five pick, he's about to get a QB like Zach Wilson to build around. Why in the world would he leave that for a program that is (in Chris Low's words) toxic?

I don't know if some of you really have no idea about anything or just make stuff up for conversation

We could do 10 year 100 million isn't that what Jimbo got we need the big money people to get it together and get serious about winning. He has Joe Brady with him also maybe he could bring him. Could you imagine how much money Tennessee would make being a playoff team every year.

I’m always interested at how many people think that there is this unlimited supply of money out there.

Rivera liked it. What a silly question

Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops are probably more obtainable at this point but I love Rhule.

Listening to the guy makes me want to run through a brick wall with him and the Carolina Panthers and I am a Titans fan.

We have doubled down on dumb as a fanbase, haven't we???

Why not Zeus for head coach?

Darth Vader?

Harry Potter?

Thanos?

I mean, these are no more ridiculous than what is being discussed in here.

He's not leaving the Panthers. That's a much better job than HC at Tennessee

Not arguing that point. Was just saying that is a name that might get action at schools even in the year of COVID if economically feasible. Makes me wonder if other guys in NFL might be hidden gems. None of the names I have seen this year rate as home runs.

Listen, I love UT and the Panthers so I can be subjective here. The Panthers organization and front office are far better run than the dumpster fire that is the UT athletic department. Also, Rhule is on a huge contract. Think this is one of the more far-fetched coaching candidates listed so far...

Correct. He won at Temple, and single handedly resurrected Baylor.
Turned around both programs significantly in year two and improved each year after. Looks better than any other HC possibility on paper. I wonder what he makes. I guess I will look it up.

Edit: 7 year , 60 or 62 million. Ouch!

Matt Ruhle now has a lot more power with the panthers. No way he leaves as he is coach and GM now. Why would you leave that and leave an NFL exec who actually is good and trusts you for the UT job?
