Matt Patchan calls CLK a Bozo

I guess we've ventured off topic to some degree, but no one will question Tebow's ability to improvise short throws (ala Big Ben). Neither will anyone question his ability to throw a passable deep ball (alot is owed to having great receivers). I will contend though that he has not proven himself as a sharp passer for the intermediate and deep out routes. If a team can keep him honest on the running and protect the middle of the field he will struggle throwing outside, because he cannot throw the ball 30 yards on a string like some more "prototypical" quarterback prospects.

If you take away his strengths (which he has plenty), I think he certainly has his weaknesses. That is why he is projected as a 4th rounder at the QB spot

Exactly. Without the dual threat generated by their offense and formations, he's not a passer.

OMG. Not this argument again.

Tim Tebow has a career passing efficiency rating of 173.4...

He has completed 65.8% of his passes, for 6,390 yards, and 67 TD while only throwing 11 INT...

The guy averages 9.38 yards per attempt which is great.

What else does he have to do to prove he can pass the ball well? If all you had to do was "scheme" to put up those numbers then everyone would do it.

If you actually think taking away the middle of the field is the way to beat Florida, you are greatly mistaken. The spread attacks the whole field, including over the top and around the ends. Additionally, cheating towards the middle would get UT absolutely eviscerated by the little Veer option that UF likes to run when people cheat inside.

Ask yourself this... If Patchen was at UT and said Meyer is a clown what would be your response?

I would find it funny. But Meyer would be in a full-on hissy fit crying and whinning. Foley would have thrown-up on himself and crapped his pants. Slive would be on ESPN demanding an apology.

Right now? I’d be making a lot of money. I would just find whatever way I could make money, because that’s the key to a lot of things in this country. Those who have the money have the power. If I wasn’t playing football, I’d probably just be out there, I don’t even know if I’d go to college, that would be like tough and a waste of my time (laughs).

The NFL scouts evaluated Tom Brady as a 6th round draft pick. Enough said...

Brady was there because he played little. Nobody at the next level has any questions about Tebow.

You remember Klingler's ratings? How about Chang's? Wonder why they didn't work out as NFL quality passers? Wuerffel was the man at UF and his Heisman. How'd tha work out. College stat machines don't necessarily translate. Those that had enormous advantage due to receiver talent and made money as dual threat almost never make it.

Are you really comparing those guys to Tim Tebow? really?

Ok. What about Ryan Leaf? NFL scouts sure scouted him accurately... We could play this game all day. Scouting is an inexact science.

The fact is, Tebow is extremely accurate, and makes good decisions. And he can put it in there on a line when he has too.

Why do you feel the need? The guy has a big ugly and long delivery that makes Leftwich look like Marino, his accuracy is overstated and he has a goofy looking stroke. He isn't the passer that several of his predecessors at UF were and all flopped.

You seem convinced. Don't bother with me. College stats are utter garbage when talking about proto NFL types. Some team will take a flyer, but that team will not be looking for a passer.

I just wonder if monte has been in touch with jon gruden on the best way to try and stop that offense? I'm sure he has. Wasn't it gruden that got the all gator, all access pass to the mighty gator offense? With gruden being the offensive mastermind that he his, hopefully he can give monte a little insight on how to stop em

Clever people also realize that draft predictions only include seniors at this point.

Um, Vince Young led the nation in QB efficienty his junior year and in the NC Title game he was 30-40. And he's was a better passer than Tebow is at this point in their careers.

A bozo? This guy must be either 10 years old or he must have an IQ below 75.
