Matt Patchan calls CLK a Bozo

I don't remember how Tebow got brought up, but I am so tired of this argument.

"he can't throw because scouts say he can't."

But we have his stats, compiled against SEC defenses, that prove that he can in fact throw the ball.

Why is this even a topic anymore?

That and isn't he projected in the first or second round now? This season pending?
he will have to be filling a specialty need for someone to take him that high.

Heath Shuler and Danny Wuerffel had huge stats against the SEC.

All draft projections are based on the senior class only. When you mix in the juniors that will leave he will be projected in the second round at best.

does it change the point. Young is an absolutely horrendous passer and put up impressive numbers in a gimmicky collegiate offense.
They can't say he isnt a bust for too much longer. He not only has very little talent as a pocket QB but is a headcase too. I'm still not over the fact that we took him who anyone could have told you will not be a good NFL player, over the hometown boy Jay Cutler who has shown he can get the job done.

Listen, as a Florida fan, I would love to see Tebow succeed in the NFL, but the most important thing to me is the success of the Florida Gator football team.

So lets ignore the NFL for a minute.

The only way you could possibly think that Tebow can't throw is if you haven't watched him play over the years. The guy hits tight spots, deep balls, intermediate routes, etc...

The fact that this is even up for debate is ridiculous based on his success.

Alex Smith did all of that too in UMs system.

Tebow's WRs were better, but that doesn't even begin to take into account the swings, wheels and screens to their slew of RBs who can all fly.

I know, how many times have you seen UF run a 5 yard slant or lil swing pass and turn into a 20+ yard gain

BPV brought it up. Heath Shuler absolutely was awesome in the SEC. Look at Erik Ainge's stats. 3500 yards, 31 TD's. Stats mean nothing in college. And I wouldn't even compare SEC defenses to the Baltimore Ravens or Pittsburgh Steelers. And yes he's projected in the first couple rounds for a wildcat position and play either LB/FB/TE.

He doesn't hit those tight spots, deep balls, consistently. You have to be a blind homer to say he does. Also, he absolutely and utterly sucks when he is pressured. Look at the first half of the OU game. When he was getting blitzed and pressured he threw two picks and sucked. Then UF started protecting better and he did great. All QB's do worse when their pressured, but Tebow is abysmal. Also his footwork his terrible and you have to have good footwork to suceed in the NFL. Look at Kyle Boller, Ryan Leaf, Alex Smith, etc.

Wow, you know so little about Tebow and Florida that its shocking considering that they are your main rival.

He consistently hits EVERYTHING he throws at. The guy has a career 66% completion percentage for christ sake. Combine that with his 9.38 YPA and you can see that its not just a dink and dunk offense.

And to say that its all about his WR's is just ridiculous.

He may or may not make it as a QB in the NFL, I don't pretend to know the future. But to say that he can't pass, here in college, because of one bad half against a fast OU team, then you are crazy.

You want to talk about the OU game? Look at the 3-12 to Riley Cooper in the 4th Quarter. Or the 2nd down STRIKE to David Nelson on the post route.
Or the bullet he throws to Louis Murphy in the 2nd quarter.

What about the strike to Percy Harvin in the middle of the field against the Vols last year in the 2nd quarter on that drive that started at the 1?

Everyone says he can't throw because of one fluttering duck he threw off of his back foot in the NCG... jeez..

I could do this all day, cause I've actually watched his every game. The guy can put the ball pretty much wherever he wants to. Your hatred is blinding your judgment.

This is an inane argument. There have been quarterbacks on the college level who were good colllege QB's and turned out to be good NFL QB's. There have been Tom Brady types or Matt Cassels who didn't do much in college and have seen success in the NFL. There have been Heisman winning QB's in college who have been NFL busts. It is not an exact science.

Mel Kiper Jr. endorsed Akili Smith, Andre Ware, and Ryan Leaf and called Matt Hasselbeck a waste of a pick.

One thing is for certain. If NFL scouts and draft experts can't seem to figure it out, then some anonymous internet forum guy such as yourself certainly isn't qualified to predict anyone's NFL future. Perhaps you should just stick to posturing for your message board community.

Additionally, one of Tebows most prolific passing games came against Ole Miss where he was getting harassed and sacked all day long. But he still had over 300 yards passing. One of his greatest attributes is his ability to make something happen under pressure. Think about the little underhanded throw he made to Moore last year that got UF in FG range in the 1st quarter. Any other QB gets sacked right there.

I'd call this borderline stupidity, but it doesn't live up to that standard. There are hordes of people brighter than NFL GMs who chose different walks of life, so aren't making decisins at that level. I'm certain that I can flip burgers with an old pro like yourself, but simply chose a different career path because didn't see the future in it that you do. Happens all the time with qualified people. Being senseless and from UF probably makes that hard to see. Keep at it and they'll have you up to ordering an inventorying lettuce soon.

Interesting. This guy brings up 2 interceptions in the first half of the Oklahoma game because the Sooners brought pressure and when Tebow is under pressure he is abysmal. Tebow threw 2 interceptions during the entire season before that game. That is 2 in 280 pass attempts. So this means either no other team but Oklahoma pressured Tebow, or he is unbelievably good under pressure.
:eek:k:

Remind us who pressured him? How many sacks?

Everyone has bad games. Even the Lord Timmy Christ.

Matt patchan's a jerk! In a year or two, Kiffin will have the talent to play with florida and things will be different---mark it down!

This just oozes originality. When getting your clock cleaned in a debate you resort to using your favorite response of "Stupid." Wow- didn't see that one coming. Then to top it off you pull the old Hackneyed message board cliche of calling someone a burger flipper. Absolute genius.

And I thought you were only qualified to posture for your message board pals. Turns out you aren't even very good at that.

The next time you clean a clock, on any topic, will be the first. You might consider sticking to a UF board littered the the likes of....well, you. The law of averages says said clock will eventually arise and you won't be relegated to spending your apparently worthless time trolling another site.

Remind, which point did you make whereby you believed you cleaned something?

He is a mobile QB, genius. He runs away from pressure and was still deadly accurate.

Deadly. Was he close to McCoy? Bradford? Where are those two going to end up? Wonder why your boy had so few attempts since he throws on the scramble all the time? Odd.

I can appreciate that you've never seen much football eypnd your hero, but that's no excuse for blind homerism. Get out some.

Btw, I'm no genius. Couldn't get into UF.

You totally did not see my whole post. He makes good throws, just not consistently. I don't hate Tebow. I really like him and hope he does well in the NFL. I actually want a NFL Tebow jersey because I really like the guy as a player and as a person. But he's not a good passer. He's not. You mention the 9.38 YPA. That's because the last two years he's had Percy Harvin and other WR's that can make play after the catch almost better than any other team in the country. He has made good throws, just not consistently. Like I said, VY had a 66% completion percentage in college. You have to admit, he has bad footwork and when he's under pressure, he isn't close to the same QB.
