That is a very good question. He sounds as if he is trained or has some knowledge of battle tactics. Is Va Tech a military school of some kind?

That's my point...if he forced them to lay down and then started shooting them he would have had to reload several times and if your laying there and watching one after another die your going to take a chance at doing something about it.

Could someone who knows about 9mm these days tell me on average how many rounds one clip can hold in a 9mm semi? I remember it being around 15 for a Glock but it has been awhile since I have looked into guns.

Remember, he's probably shooting people multiple times. Would not surprise me to hear he spent 200 rounds or more.

I also wonder if he converted them to fully auto.

Some of the large frame 9's have 18 rd. clips plus 1 in the barrell.

It depends on the clip anywhere from 11 to 30 plus 1 in the chamber. Add to that the 30 round clip has enough sticking out of the gun to allow 2 clips taped together where reload is almost instantaneous.

Latest count is 30 dead plus gunman. 29 wounded.

The sad thing is VT is going to get crucified over this if this is true:

"But I'm pretty outraged and I'll say on the record I'm pretty outraged that someone died in a shooting in a dorm at 7 o'clock in the morning and the first e-mail about it — no mention of locking down campus, no mention of canceling classes — they just mention that they're investigating a shooting two hours later at 9:22." He added: "That's pretty ridiculous and meanwhile, while they're sending out that e-mail, 22 more people got killed."

The news from Virginia Tech just keeps getting worse. Now 31 dead and numerous wounded. Just heard on the radio that two buildings at UT have been exavuated due to "threats". Prayers for the families, faculty and students affected.

this is going to be a problem at several schools i believe now due to psycho's either making pranks about doing this or God forbid someone trying to do this at another school

I heard the gunman is an Asian kid, and claimed he is trying to kill his girlfriend or something like that. I heard some analyst from FOX told a possible storyline: the killer was looking for killing his girlfriend. He went to her dorm, but couldn't find her, so he killed someone around. Then he went to where her class was at, but couldn't find her either. So he started to shoot randomly. That's so sad...

i'm tellin u rt now that other schools are going to have to either close completely or close certain buildings due to idiots and sicko's calling in w/ threats, or some other idiot might decide he will do the same thing that this guy did. sickening
