Martin really isn't that bad

I'm on of the fans who was unhappy with Cuonzo through the season. I was also one of the fans who did not like Dooley and was really ready to see him go after the Florida game in year 3. The point I'm making is any1 telling people who were unhappy with Cuonzo to quote eat crow is dumb. We have expectations at the university of tennessee and those include making the ncaa tournament once every 3 years which we barely did. At the time Cuonzo deserved the criticism. You don't get the awesome job and huge salary for no reason. Now he has shown he can do more as a coach than most of us thought so of course people are going to be happy. What if Dooley had beat scar Missouri and candy his final year would we have told every1 who saw him fail his first 2 and a half years to eat crow or does it make more sense that when they underperform you question them( if they are unproven coaches like what we had) and praise them when you see they can do it? All this nonsense about eating crow to the people who were doubting Cuonzo is dumb. I doubted him and now I doubt him less because I believe what my eyes tell me. You don't just blindly support your coach no matter how bad things are going unless you want to be A third rate program and you also don't criticize for every loss. There is a middle ground of common sense that can be reached and I think most on volnation appropriately doubted him and now are appropriately celebrating him.

If you compared Cuonzo to Dooley at even the lowest point of this season, you were very foolish to do so.

Nah I pretty much covered it, and the part I missed you showed with your last couple posts. Be careful on those fences.

It's finally, I was constantly called a "Martin defender" "Martin apologist" "martinite" etc etc

Yet now I'm accused of not defending him, sounds like you and your boys that are on the fence.

Did I ever call you that, or say that you defended Martin no matter what? I'll answer, no I didn't. Care to try again?

I'm not saying you didn't defend him, I'm saying you were very political about it and talked out both sides of your mouth. You do it very carefully, but you hedge your bets.

Your right, in between my 35k posts I take plenty of time and edit my posts to make sure that I don't "hedge my bets" ever.

My stance stayed the same all year, go back and read my posts preseason if you'd like. I said if we missed the dance, he should go, Hart may keep him but IMO he should go. If he limped into tourney (like we did) then he needed to have a good showing, which he has. If he did that, then he should be retained and given both a raise and extension. If he steamrolled into the dance as a 5 or 6 seed but caught a bad matchup and last first round, wouldn't be a failure IMO, and still would deserve a raise and extension.

At no point during the season have I wavered from that, and as I pointed out above, was called every name in the book that in some way tied me to defending Martin. At times my confidence he would make the dance declined some, thus my confidence he should be here declined some as well. But my stance stayed the same, he makes the dance he should be here, pretty simple.

Did you sign the petition, and say you would welcome Bruce back? Did you argue for Howland constantly? Did you say "Tennessee isn't the place for a young coach to learn on the job"? Yes, yes, and yes.

Guys like Krager never wavered for a second, you were all over place covering every angle so you could say I told you so. Sounds like hedging your bets to me. Also again, I didn't call anyone any silly azz name so I really don't care about that.

Honestly the chest pounding by the people doing it is pathetic. Instead enjoying the ride, they would rather say I told you so.

BadJerry is rarely off point, and usually dead center. Trying to enjoy the ride to man. Hard ticket to get, but have a couple of ky friends with tix. If we win and they lose, I'll be in Indy Sunday.

No, no and no.

Your reading comprehension is clearly lacking.

1. Did I sign the petition? Yes. However as I said at the time, I signed it to only say I would welcome Bruce back if there was a coaching vacancy. That if there was no vacancy then I didn't support change.

2. Argue for Howland constantly? Not sure what lala land you're from, but again, way off base. Did I say he would be a good hire (listen closely), if a move was made? Yes. Once again, if there was a vacancy, he would be a good candiate.

3. Did I say Tennessee wasn't the place for you coach to learn? Yes. You conveniently omit the rest of what I said. That we are already in a place where the coach is having to learn, so we might as well see what we got.

I took you for someone who didn't assume things and actually ready entire posts, did I misjudge you?

Yeah I'm done with that conversation. Just enjoying what is happening, none of us expected this a month ago. I'm all for good BASKETBALL discussions, but the haha told you so ish is taking over every thread. But I am on VolNation so it is what it is I guess.

I might be going Sunday as well. This girl I know is a UofL fan and has tickets, said if Tennessee wins I can roll up with her. Work permitting of course.

No, no, and no. Question my reading comprehension then answer yes to every question? Lol Yeah this is pointless.

Honestly I don't care how you judge me, my posting speaks for itself.
