Honestly they should have fired him years ago but people were saying it's Ky, give him time he's a good coach. So they kept giving him another year, another raise.Firing Stoops is a dumb move by Kentucky unless they get extremely lucky with his replacement. It works out well for us though. The more chaotic our rivals are the better.
This isn't basketball. That was Stoops main problem is getting enough NIL money.Don't think that's the case in the NIL era. If you've got people willing to pour money in to the program, you can be as good as anyone else. For all the bad the last few years of CFB changes have brought, that is one of the good. School history/being a blueblood/etc just doesn't matter anymore. All that matters is having a good enough coaching staff and money to buy a good enough roster.
I actually hope its Hartline as thats the key cog everyone says taht keeps wide receivers going to Ohio State. Even if it causes Kentucky to be better but takes away 2 star receivers a year from Buckeyes it would be worth it.I've been following this very closely. Expect them to go after Oregon OC Will Stein or OSU OC Brian Hartline. Both have Kentucky ties.
Will Stein was born and raised in Kentucky, grew up a Kentucky fan (until being recruited to play at Louisville), his dad played for UK, and his family is still in Kentucky. Brian Hartline's brother, Mike, played at UK
