I'm not so certain. Maybe running behind an offensive line that can't protect him and being stuck in a stubborn scheme that worked in the 90s is the issue here.

Jalen seems like a good kid, let's not belittle him. Let him go if it's what he wants. Hopefully, we will soon have an offensive coordinator who will actually utilize our talent.

I don't care what meeting he had with his "friends/teammates". Don't care that he cried to them. He quit on them!!!!!!

This younger generation has a me, me, me first mentality.

With 4 games to go, you quit the team dude? Really?

Who does that?

I don't care what Butch promised you.....although I agree the coaches misused him grossly.

But the reality is that he quit on his teammates......

This is plain and simple...............AFTER a while, players can see through all the BS that Butch has promised and NOT delivered as he probably told Hurd after last year that he will switch up the offense so there is more "I" formation ala the bowl game. And Im pretty sure that when they recruited Kongbo, they told him that he would play DE opposite of Barnett and he was moved to Tackle.........They probably told Preston W. that he would be the deep threat and not just a 5-10 yard possession receiver.....and it keeps going..........Butch better fire is OC ASAP to save face w/ players and potential recruits and if is offense is soo good then he should call the plays........but I don't think he will because then he would have NOBODY to blame when it doesn't work.........

Whoever thinks Hurd should leave or is ok with him leaving is an idiot. This kid I followed a lot coming out of high school, helped put together the first great signing class in a long time,and played the first 2 season with fire and motivation. But as a player and watching how Butch Jones offense has evolved to what it is now,I wouldn't want to play here either. People forget why a kid will commit to a school,it's more than tradition,or conference,or pride. Winning and making your own legacy. Me yeah, loved Peyton Manning and Reggie White and all the other greats who come threw Tennessee,but you come to win and make your own legacy. Jalen must not feel like its happening. Butch is a fraud,we all have seen it. So I can see why he wants to leave. I'm sorry he feels this way and sorry for his teammates but it's his life not theirs or ours. I wish him the best and much success.

Does anyone have the reason he is transferring? I am trying to read through the tea leaves here but struggling. Yes, his fit in out system isn't the best but he has put up with it up until now. He got his bell rung in the Georgia game because he lost focus and was trotting in for an easy touchdown. I am sure he got his ass chewed for that, but really what gives?

But no. He wants to be a drama queen within the locker room and allow a clown like 74 to speak for him in message boards and now twitter while being a reason a team meeting occurs.

At this point it really doesn't matter. 74s time here is done. Jalen is gone. Go Vols and to hell with everyone else.

Can't like this post enough. Some, who want the coach to be fired, who want the ridiculous I formation, will disagree. I've always been a Jalen fan, 74 tried to change all that for me anyway. Good luck to Jalen and go vols.
