the truth to stop the Manning/Sanchez argument is this...The Jets have a much better team than the Colts did in 98. Sanchez has done a good job obviously as a NFL RC and has a bright future. Manning however will go down as maybe the best QB ever to play in the NFL.
And if my aunt had a third leg...well, you know the ending.
Bottom line, as a rookie, he is leading the team to the AFC CG. That's impressive no matter how you spin it.
He's not leading his team, he's just another player.
he's leading his team about as well as every other Pete Carroll qb has in the NFL ... poorly. He threw for 100 yards. the Jets defense is stoked and the running game is strong. If they had an actual qb they'd be killing teams. Put Peyton on that team and you might as well hand them the super bowl. USC also wins because your in a crap conference and always end up playing Big 10 teams in your bowl games. You shoulda played Auburn the one year and got your azz whooped but the sports writers knew youd lose so they out you against Ochoklahoma. USC is dogchit.
Funny, I could have sworn it was Sanchez who threw the game winning TD while under duress.
No one is comparing Sanchez to PM's NFL career...just their rookie season.
Someone might wanna tell Joe Montana that.
I suppose we can argue the semantics, however, the QB is usually considered the leader of the team.
Well, if you truly want to compare their rookie seasons, let's take a look at the cold, hard stats:
Manning (1998): 326-575 (56.7%), 3739 yds., 26 tds., 28 int., 71.2 passer rating.
Sanchez (2009): 196-364 (53.8%), 2444 yds., 12 tds., 20 int., 63.0 passer rating.
dude ..what ? What about receivers ? O linemen ? Running backs ?
05-06 ...when the resurrected the old guy ...it wasn't just Ainge that did a 360. It was Meechum , the entire O line went from being a no talent bunch of fat guys to a bunch of chisled studs that gave up less sacks than just about any in the nation. Foster became a 1000 back . When he left ...it all fell apart and they all just didn't have talent anymore.
Doesn't matter if they hired him ...get your facts straight.
Nah, I'm pretty sure he's content with the #5 overall pick, lots of money, playing in New York, and leading his team to the AFC CG as a rookie.
if youre going to act like a ass at least spell your own answer correct.k:
