Malone to the NFL

And this is why there are more undrafted free agents starting in the NFL than 1st and 2nd round picks. NFL front offices are moronic.

Barnett would be 4th on my list of draft eligible Vols. Sutton, Kamara, and Dobbs will be better pros. And if that clown Jalen Hurd gets his head on right and enters the draft as a RB that would slide DB to 5th on my list of best draft eligible pros from team 120.

Pure tomfoolery

It's a shame he's leaving to be honest, because he was just starting to get in a rhythm as a Junior and was poised for a nice senior season and honestly I don't think he's ready or is going to be drafted. I think if he was at a different program he'd be staying, but I don't blame him one bit and wish him luck. I hope he can show out during workouts or at the combine should he get invited.

He has one year of production, and his big question marks are going to be about his physicality and ability to get off of the line of scrimmage and win 50/50 battles. He did a better job of that this year, but he mostly improved his technique and became a really nice route runner and was able to run past smaller defenders on deep balls. He had a really nice year, but a lot of his numbers came against weaker competition.

He definitely capitalized on his opportunities and targets this year though, which were very few and far between, which makes his production pretty impressive in the context of this offense. He became a legit deep threat which I didn't see any sign of his first two years.

I think he proved he could get open deep in his first two years, he just didn't make the catches downfield. His hands really improved this year. As you said, strength and "my ball" mentality will be issues he has to address.

If you said this before Akers made his choice you would be easier to believe. Right now it looks like you're coming in after the fact and trying make the facts fit your story.

I'm not saying what you said isn't true just that if you are going to stop grenades like this, do it before the fact not after.

I'm pretty sure Gerald Jones did the same thing to a potential recruit.

Butch Jones needs to get Mark Helfrich.

Winning cures everything almost.

"I want to thank all UT coaches, especially coach Z"

That's a good way to include the one's you like and the one(s) you don't.

Sorry.

Coach Z was his position coach so yes would expect him to single him out.

Similar in the real world - it is the person that is directly responsible for your development not your manager's manager that influences you the most.

If you're serious we definitely can't hv this discussion

What did I say that offended you?

I prefer Sutton and Lewis to every other draft eligible corner. Some guys I question their speed.

Maybe you don't follow the NFL but the guys who get picked first by the scouts aren't always the best.

He thinks 40 times are useful.

They give us a good baseline for athleticism if you don't show it in games. For example, I don't care what 40 time Corey Davis runs. I've seen enough of his tape to see that he's football fast regardless of his track speed. Other guys I question cause I don't see them showing that elite football field speed. So I look forward to see the 40 time to see if they really are as slow as they seem on tape.

You're the biggest mouth breather I've seen on here in a long time.

Good luck to Malone. I think it is probably a good decision for him as I don't know if he has another leap to make in the NCAA. He might as well try to take the next step in the NFL.

I would have loved to have him coming back next year with a new QB but wish him success in the draft and the NFL.

Can you blame Malone? Stay and deal with more drama here when 2017 team flops or move on and maybe catch on as a FA 3rd or 4th receiver on a team.

He's not ready but maybe with a good off season he will survive.

Because football is played in straight vertical lines right???? The 40 yard dash is completely useless. If you really want to see football speed, three cone drill.

no he wont -- the RIchard Shermans and Eric Berrys of the NFL would kill him no matter if he has a year off or not and if he cant deal with drama the NFL isnt for him

Its pretty simple if a junior had a good year he leaves. Have you guys paid attention to all the kids who have declared this year? You could draft the first 3 rounds with nothing but juniors and there would still be some left over.

Sutton is a 3rd or 4th round pick imo. We'll likely see 8 or 9 (at least) corners taken before him. He's got the tools and mindset to be a good, solid pro. Nothing elite about him. Just the truth.

Not what I meant.

Butch. I was referring to Butch.

I know who you were referring to which is why I answered like I did. He mentioned the coach that he was more than likely closest to - his position coach.

Nothing hidden in what he said - you all just want there to be something there.

No. That is your OPINION.

There is no truth to what you say. Just like there is no truth to me saying he'll be a elite NFL player. Its simply an OPINION.

The truth will come out in the future when we see how he does.
