Malone at the Combine

Meant to post this when D4H was making these comments (In Dobbs thread)... but I do agree Dobbs probably did hold back slightly, but not for the crazy reason he posted about being move out of QB spot because so athletic, but rather not to take chance of pulling hamstring or something. jmo though

Yep. Wouldn't want to get hurt before the big game.

Oh wait...

Actually I just post in a flow of consciousness manner. Which means at any given moment what you see is what I'm thinking at that time. Some day I might be thinking one way and another day I might be thinking something else.

That's how geniuses like myself work.

We are ever evolving.

This is essentially a confession that you just throw BS. The attempt to conflate this with some great whimsical intellect wouldn't convince anyone here even if it were involving creativity where at least such an outlandish thing could merit consideration. What we're left with is someone who even when "streaming" multiple outcomes manages to be wrong far more often than right. In this case going from a 4.35 to 4.39 is only "less wrong" when predicting a 4.3.

When he started posting, he'd have a few unique points but was mostly bland and uninteresting. He found with this new "I'm a genius" schtick, that the more outrageous and ridiculous the more response. He believes very little of what he throws out there, the "genius" is the game he's played that's made him relevant. Every time you quote him you pay homage. :hi:

I was mostly playing off how that post basically came out and admitted his degree of BS which made it worth noting. Otherwise your observation looks pretty accurate.

Don't forget they also had the best QB in the draft on the team and hid him from the gameplan until they fell behind 21 points every week.

We'll remember this era of Vols football as what could have been after guys like Kamara, Dobbs, and Malone ball out in the NFL.

I Dobbs ran every play he would have been broken. Then who gets the ball to the other guys.

Who do yall think Malone compares to at the next level? Im probably wayyy off on this but only guy i could think of whos similar is size, speed, style of game and whatnot is Allen Hurns. Both 6'3, both right around 208, hurns ran a 4.44, both run good clean routes, highpoint the ball well and just kinda glide out there and have deceptive explosion.

Blake Bortles killed Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns production this year big time.

I predicted 4.39 right before the combine.

My final prediction is the one I give right before the event.

Before that I'm just posting flow of consciousness. Its ever changing.

Lol. It wasn't before the Combine, it was during it.

You hedged at the last second after being wrong/overly optimistic about AK and Dobbs about 30 minutes before. Funny how you "flowed" closer to 4.4, which is what most figured him to run, than you did 4.3. You could've doubled down and said he'd run even faster than 4.35, but instead you softened your prediction. And it's not the first time.

D4H is like the town drunk. He just talks crazy in the corner and every now and then someone will throw him a bone so he doesn't get the shakes.

No,
He was always predicting sub 4.4
Because I was also saying it.

I thought he would run 4.38.

I think he could that.

But D4H was saying sub 4.4 for weeks now

I disagree with him constantly...

But we agreed about Malone and the combine.

I think the point was he definitely claimed 4.35 prior to AK and Malone's 40's (which were significantly slower than he'd predicted) and then slid Malone's time to the slowest possible 4.3.

FWIW he was certainly closer on Malone than the others.

No, you're missing the point Little. Of course D4H had said Malone would run sub-4.4 at the Combine .... 4.35 to be exact. No one disputes that.

However, fact is, at the last minute, about 30 minutes after Dobbs ran 2-2.5 seconds slower than the 4.4-4.5 that D4H said he would on Saturday morning (and after also watching AK be 2-2.5 seconds slower on Friday than D4H had predicted), AFTER the combine for the QBs and WRs had already begun, D4H comes on here at the last moment and decides Malone is actually a bit slower than he had been predicting for awhile. That's all I'm saying.....all of a sudden, after missing on both AK and Dobbs, D4H decided to hedge and predict Malone would run 4.39, which is closer to the 4.4s that most everybody else had predicted for him. Pretty transparent why he did it. And it wouldn't be a big deal at all if D4H wasn't D4H, if you know what I mean. Without his history of proclaiming that he's brilliant while everybody else are idiots, nobody would've said a thing.
