the lack of pass rush hurts the secondary. they have to cover longer. WR's will get open.

that said, Mosley and Foreman have both had struggles, and both have flashed this year. there's not a lot of consistency, and when they both have chances to make plays, they need to. Foreman's dropped int Saturday was on the same drive GA got the TD over Sutton.

but if the pass rush starts to get there, and hurry or affect the qb, the secondary starts to look a lot better.

I wonder how two berrys would look in the secondary. Evan is exciting to watch. Find a place for him and its in the secondary at this point

I watch a lot.....way too much...college football.
And it seems to me....maybe because I'm emotionally invested....that our DBs rarely turn and look for the ball when it's in the air like many other teams do.
I would love to hear from someone who has coached the secondary on when and how they are supposed to do so.

I don't think anyone should be calling out players. These are young men, trying their best. Can you do what you are attacking them for?

Are you a defensive coordinator? On the plays where they are getting burned, do you know the coverage? Coverage busts happen and many times the person chasing is not the one who messed up. What is to be accomplished posting that in here?

Wasn't Foreman the one with the pass inference during the Oklahoma game and fell down on the losing td and the Florida got burned by over running the play on that they won with several things every game smh

A very Vanilla defense is the main reason for some of the struggles. We don,t mix up coverage,we rarely blitz,when we do never off the edge always up the middle..we could have blitzed off the edge all night against Georgia, But not once unless it was a run blitz. Our D is way to easy to read.
As for Foreman and Moseley not there fault they didn't receive coaching on proper technique in high school, But you would have thought by now they would have learned something not saying to much for the DB's coach HUhhh!

I was referring to the defensive backs coach at Dobyns Bennett. Check the stats as to how many yards their secondary has given up this season. I think they might be headed for a state record in passing yardage given up. Over 600 yrds. just in one game. Absolutely the worst defensive backs coach I have ever seen. That's who coached Foreman. Hard to unlearn 3 years of really bad coaching from high school.

Sutton hasn't had the season everyone thought he would have so far, but all other DB's have played very poorly at times....pass coverage one on one is terrible and so is open field tackling in the secondary.....Must Improve to become bowl eligable

As others have mentioned, UT needs a better pass rush. Maggitt's injury hurt the CB's and NB a great deal. It is disappointing that no one has stepped up to punish other teams for doubling Barnett.

HOWEVER, Bama is the last really good OL on the schedule. If Phillips is coming along then he should help balance things in the last 5 games.

Weatherd was missing vs UGA. Did he play?

They are adults getting paid in scholarships to entertain. I see nothing wrong with saying that one of these adults is not playing well.

Depends. The only time you technically shouldn't be looking for the ball all the time is when you are in a man situation and your target is running a deep route. In that situation you look back when the WR looks back/up (for the ball) or last ditch effort is when they put their arms out. Patrick Peterson for the Cardinals plays this route very well as a DB, mostly because he has the speed to keep pace with any receiver in the league.

Almost every other situation your chest and or face should be towards the play/QB watching for the ball as you run with your target.

TK Jr. is not a CB...and he has looked very bad at times out there this year....

McNeil and Randolph need to be benched in favor of Evan Berry at one of the Safety positions with TK Jr.

I personally would use our open date to convert Juan Jennings to a CB or Safety. I actually like the idea of having a 6'4" guy who is athletic and can run at Safety. He couldn't be worse than McNeil or Randolph...

I don't know who we get to replace Mosely or Foreman--Martin?
