M. Griffiths thinks Hurd should return

The team probably would not want Hurd back and team chemistry seems to be better since he quit the team.

Yep from a player talent standpoint, Jalen could help out right away...especially as a full back catching passes out of the backfield and blocking which he is relatively good at.

I don't think there is enough time for him to compete as TE or WR like he wants to unless he is willing to redshirt.

But the risk/reward pendulum definitely swings towards risk with the team chemistry. He would have to make amends and sway the doubters.

3 scholly RBs for a Power 5 SEC school is scary though. That's just barely enough for kickers. Georgia had 4 RBs hurt last year in Spring training.

No way you take him back he quit on his teammates not just the coaches he messed up and now it's a life learning event that we all had to or will have to deal in life.

One of the best lessons I learned in life was through getting fired at the ripe old age of 16. I may not be where I am today without learning to be a better employee who earns his keep.

Now is Hurd truly remorseful or is he just plain desperate? Is CBJ desperate?

Food for thought: Kamara got a second chance, thankfully not at the same University!

He can play for the practice squad. If Hurd the turd runs the ball as a vol again I guarantee I won't watch another game until butch is fired.

I doubt that. You couldn't stop watching if you were paid to stop watching.

I call your bluff and raise you with some other hypothetical outrage.

One thing people need to look at, if he is all that why are we not hearing about other schools wanting him. I guarantee there is a very good reason why they aren't. Teams yank up people they think or worth the risk and can help them. GBO!!!!!!

I'm just saying, I think even if butch lets him back, there will be an uproar from fans and probably the players as well for letting him back.

Didn't see where anyone else linked this so here we go:

My gut reaction is Griffiths needs to quit hanging out with Josh Ward. No way it happens, and no way it should. Too risky.

I really respect Mike and enjoyed his reporting when he covered hoops for the KNS. But he completely lost me when he stubbornly insisted that Scotty Hopson (remember him?) was "one and done" and NBA bound...even after Hopson failed to even get drafted. I loved Scotty as a player but even a geezer like me could see he was not at all anywhere near ready for the league during his time at TN.

I think he's smoking the same kind of stuff on this Hurd fantasy.

I guess the article has achieved it intended goal....starting an uproar amongst the working class(that would be us). The love of redemption in me wants to say yes but a huge problem with sports in general today is no consequences for wrong action....and based on that premise I vote NO!!!!

Man being out on the deserted island of no one wanting you can really change your mind. I think we are probably his best option. Come back. Be contrite. Have some success. I am not sure we should take him back though. If the team accepts him back though I would too as those were the people he walked out on and hurt worst and if they believe in him I'll roll with it.

Bring back Hurd? Ok.....While you're at it become a Browns fan, start dating Courtney Love, eat gas station sushi....Etc.
I wish Hurd the best but it was obvious that the offense did better when he left.

Hurd said no...........

from what I have heard form my sources............

the TEAM said no.............

if they BOTH change their mind.............

then OK

I suspect a better chance of the sun coming up in the west tomorrow morning, but I'm open............

I don't (as most of us don't) have a vote.

He's too tall and slow to play running back in the NFL. No college coach has the time to teach a senior how to play tight end. He could not learn quick enough to be a contributor at that position. He hurt his teammates, and did Butch dirty, after Butch kept his promise to let Hurd play the running back position. I think Canada is in his future.

The only way this should go down is if the team is willing to give Hurd another chance. Hurd should have to apologize to every player on the team for letting them down.
