Love Barnes 2nd half was on him

We have a good coach in most respects. He's just not above average in the x's and o's (offensive play calling.)

Last 10 minutes of every game should be primarily Springer, Johnson, sometimes Pons going one on one and finishing at the basket.

People don’t want to hear it but this program has never been great and probably never will be great.

No matter how bad the football program is, Tennessee will always be a football school regardless what Barnes accomplishes here.

That’s how it’s always been.

That's hilarious given time and time again we've seen Barnes greatly outcoach better teams while here.

We gonna be any good in baseball?
We could be a legitimate top 25 team and still end up in the bottom half of the SEC. I like Vitello but I never have high expectations for UT baseball. If you think SEC football is a meat grinder, it’s child’s play compared to SEC baseball.

You can cut the patronizing. I never said he coached well tonight. He was outcoached and the team was outplayed. But if you say Rick Barnes is a "fraud" to anyone who knows a thing about college basketball, you're going to get laughed at, deservedly so
That's fair....fraud was probably too far but any average coach should be able to work us through a zone. We just sat on our ass.

Right now it’s just a school lol. At least we finally will be running a football offense that isn’t 20 years outdated for once.

I mean I love Vol football and the 90s were great but we put out a DVD called Decade of Dominance and we didn't even dominant the decade.

Missed Ft's, TO's, missed layup's, over and over, again. These freshmen have to much inconsistency with them, I think they are way over rated , and the toughest games are yet to come.

This team has no shooters and they are going home early. Every team they play is a toss up. Pathetic really

They’re good players. Not every 5 star freshman is Zion.

And hes been coaching how long???? How many tournaments has he won in his CAREER? Well the jokes on you genius. But I guess striving for championships is just silly. Bring back the black curtains so all of us that expect better will just give up. Enjoy your cruise in mediocre bball.

Barnes has more Elite 8s and Final Fours than TN has had in it’s entire history. He also has a higher winning percentage while at TN than TN has had historically. He has been to more NCAA tournaments in his coaching career than TN has been to in its history.

His inability to put his team into a better situation to handle the half court trap is inexcusable imo. Earn your freaking paycheck.[/QUOTE. You are spot on. My sentiments exactly. You would think Barnes had never seen a 1-3-1 half court trap before. We must have turned it over 4 or 5 times up top in the 2nd half. And ZERO adjustments. I really don’t get it.

A fraud with 720 wins. God I dont want to sunshine pump after a bad loss but some of y'all are as emotional and as knowledgable about basketball as an 8 year old girl
One Final 4 in 720 wins.... Nothing to brag about. Just means he’s been coaching for a long time

Again, one more final 4 than Tennessee has, which has been a program longer than he's been a coach. And you dont coach basketball that long at any level without knowing what you're doing. And I remember when people thought Tony Bennett was a sucky tournament coach, then he won the most recent NC

Almost surreal that we have never been to a final 4. In all honesty, I think next season might be our year depending on what KJ and Springer do after this year Regarding their NBA careers

Its too much of a crapshoot for me to ever predict that sort of thing, but if one of those two and Fulk come back, we may have as good a shot as any. I still dont think ill feel as confident in that team preseason as I did the senior year Admiral junior year Grant team. I thought that team was gonna win it all

Absolutely on the coach. But if the guys would have made 1 more free throw or 1 more field goal when they went like 1-17 over 12 minutes, his game would have been at the very least in Overtime
If’s and butts was candy and nuts,oh what a. Christmas. That was a 100% painful to watch. Free throws, pathetic shooting, and turnovers from not caring about the ball. Total team and coaching loss.

Duke didn’t go to the Final Four with Zion. Kentucky didn’t go to the Final Four with John Wall and Boogie Cousins. Even if you think you have the roster to get there, there’s usually an element of luck you need to make it actually happen. And that has eluded us for so long.

Springer was 1 for 7, and Johnson was 2 for 6. Pons didn't get nearly enough touches, and James needed to take a two minute breather and gone right back in when he was hot in the first half. Springer and Johnson are not the go to guys at this point.

Every coach has his weaknesses. If you didn't already know that two of Rick's are zone offense and handling traps then you've not been paying attention.

Barnes hasn’t won a conference tournament in 1994. He’s been to one Final Four in 30+ years, he’s been to one S16 since 2008. He just isn’t a good postseason coach because of his offense. It isn’t just luck.
