Lots went wrong but #2 is QB1 [JG discussion, merged]

I just hope he can start 2020 with this confidence. He looked great at times in 2018 but then struggled out the gate this year. He has turned it around, however.

However, I always thought we put too much on the QBs. It hasn't helped that our rushing game has been poor all year putting more pressure on a QBs to make plays.

JG is definitely the best QB on the roster right now. This is how I thought he would look at the beginning of the year. Glad to see he made it to this level, even if he had a rough start. Hopefully, with the 2nd year in Chaney's offense, he'll have a smoother start next season.

He’ll have a year to be comfortable with Chaney’s offense. He wasn’t playing with much confidence to start the year.

He absolutely deserved the criticism. Lets be clear about that. But he absolutely deserves credit for coming back and making a success story out of some of the lowest of lows. Everyone in the nation talked about him going rogue against Bama. Cant see those tears in his eyes post game and not feel good for him.

I just don't understand why we can't score with those kind of numbers. Tyler Bray had 4 400+ yard games and we averaged 49.5 points in them. It's crazy to get an excellent performance yards wise but its baffling to not be able to turn it into points.

Not blaming JG for this, but can't explain it.
This game was dominated by UT, but its just proof that blocked FGs and TOs have a huge impact on a game. As great of a game Jennings played, the 1 play he didnt was a TD that led to the blocked FG. At the least, the score should have been 34-17 (without that last blocked FG Mizzou doesnt score their last FG and makes it closer than it should have been). Possibly 41-17 if Jordan doesnt fumble and we score there. Im just thankful for the players not giving up when bad things went against them this season and they had every reason to want to mail it in.

No way we win that game with Mauer at QB. Mauer almost got Calloway killed on the one pass he threw. Not saying Mauer won't be good, but right now, he's got a long way to go to be as good as JG.
Maurer was in one play. Qb’s are not responsible for a hard hit by a Defensive player on a Wr. That is a play call scheming issue. Calloway would have likely been hit hard even if the ball was on target. He had Calloway in his sights and there is not anyone who could of stopped it.

That was some of my thoughts. However, we will have big wholes to fill without Callaway and Jennings. We need our rushing attack to step it up. We could not run the ball against anyone this year, even UAB and Georgia State.

WR didn't help him out.we left atleast 10 off the board from drops.

Great win. Let's stomp candy into the ground.
