Or the athletic departments know what's coming down as far as schedule changes with expansion and so it begins for other schools as well

Doesn't explain the buyout of the UNC series which was set to begin this season.

It's a plausible, but convenient excuse.

I can remember Paul Finebaum saying a few years ago "Tennessee will play anyone , they don't care" when talking about schools scheduling out of conference play . Made me poke my Vol chest out a bit. Stop being a pu55y A.D and go play these games !

This is ridiculous! I sure as hell hope they come out soon and tell us why they chose to do this AGAIN. I am hoping it is because they know something we don't as far as future schedules and adding teams to the conference schedule. However, it looks terrible to have a team come to your house and play and then not return the favor. I mean if you buyout before you ever play thats one thing.....to have them travel cross country and play in your house and then not go out to their place is chicken ****!!!

One thing that can't be denied though.....we have money on The Hill. Between paying former coaches as if they were still here, lining up tickets and money for a former AD, building a new football facility, paying inferior opponents to come to Neyland and buying ourselves out of any tough opponents, we are not short on the cash flow.

This is a sad day and anybody trying to reason this decision is sad as well.

I was going. Not happy about it. Are we bailing to play another cupcake, or another reason? Next year is supposed to be our run. Are they afraid to start off with an L in dd's important 3rd year?
Interesting.

who cares about respect! im tired of losing games especially out of conference games due to scheduling hard ones! there is no reason to play anyone worth while outside the sec! you can go to the big dance every year just on sec wins, so why do anything extra? if we would have not scheduled oregon,, ucla, cal over the past few years we would have been 4 games better then we are! who cares!

If we bought out of that game, we are officially a pack of pu**ies.

I'm losing respect for Dooley.
