Looks like Vols might not have to worry about Pitt's Biletnikoff winner this season

I really find it strange that Pitt is picked higher than us and picked to beat us by most publications. They lost Pickett a 5 or 6-year player that was like a coach on the field and a potential High NFL QB pick. That's hard to replace. Maybe we have to travel to Pitt is the big factor. I believe our O will be better than last year vs Pitt early in the year and our D be at least the same.

We are 80-81 since Fulmer was fired the first time, we don't get the benefit of the doubt from non-homers against hardly anyone of note, especially on the road. It's a tough pill for us older guys to swallow because we remember the respect the Power T used to have but at this point we've got to earn that respect back.

There are rumors of an 8 digit NIL deal waiting for him in SoCal. I'm glad we won't be facing him in the fall ... but this type of free agency, involving the best players in the country, is what will bring about the end of college football.

10 million seems like an internet rumor. This article says USC got him for 2 million after he turned down Kentucky's 800K offer. The Pitt coach is accusing both schools of tampering before he entered the portal. I do agree with you that this is not a sustainable model for college football.
WR Jordan Addison Expected to Leave Pitt for USC, Greater NIL Opportunities

8 figures does seem far fetched. As for "tampering", I think we'll be hearing that routinely in the NIL going forward. Is it happening, certainly. Can it be proven or stopped? Highly doubtful. IMO, all programs need to treat it like recruiting. You've got a guy but other teams are going to try and lure him away. You either pay him or lose him and grab a replacement from the portal. It's the new law of the land. Better get used to it.

I'm a fan of this and NIL in general. If I had a better job offer - better money, location, or leadership - I'd be ticked if there was regulation preventing it.

Good for these guys taking ownership over their situations. This is also going to be the healthiest thing for college football. Those of you that enjoyed watching Alabama win a national title every year for the last decade will likely be disappointed, but for those of us that have been starving for parity, it has arrived.

USC, Miami, Texas, and Tennessee will narrow the gap so fast in this improved iteration of the sport.

Jordan Addison did not enter the transfer portal until three hours ago. These rumors of a potential transfer to USC started swirling around the internet last night. If USC proves to be Addison's destination, with a substantial NIL deal in tow, then clearly he had been in contact with a representative of USC (possibly, through an intermediary) before entering the transfer portal. That is tampering, and it should not be that hard to prove either.

If shopping for needs from the rosters of other teams (rather than the portal) becomes an acceptable practice, then college football is in trouble.

If USC, Texas A&M, Alabama and Ohio State start recruiting from our existing roster, rather than through our transfer portal, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that most members of VolNation will not like it.
As long as we can recruit from their’s. I think some of you are underestimating the money at our disposal.

Not really my point... If it becomes acceptable to recruit needs from someone else's roster of scholarship athletes, it will really make a chaotic mess of college athletics.

I don't think it should legal for us or anyone else to do that.
