Looking Past The Upcoming Beatdown...

Inexplicable to me.

UT was a double digit home favorite and lost. UT was predicted to win by homers, experts, and even UCLA fans.

My stand is that I expect UT to win the games they are supposed to win. I don't expect miracles, but losing a home game against a weak opponent should not be accepted. UT has more talent than UCLA, easily.

When Kiffin wins games he's supposed to win he'll never hear criticism from me. When he wins games he's supposed to lose he'll hear praise from me. But when he loses games he's supposed to win criticism shouldn't be inexplicable.

Why should Fulmer shoulder all the blame for Crompton? Crompton was the second rated QB out of high school. Fulmer can be blamed for not having better second and third string QB's, but not for Crompton being a bust.

UT was a heavy favorite based on stuff that people basically made up out of the air. New coaches, a new system, a few talented new players....nobody knew what to expect at all from Tennessee this year. Then they watched a glorified scrimmage against a high school team, suddenly decided that Tennessee was credibly "back," and installed UT as a heavy favorite over UCLA. So when it turns out that yes, the OL still sucks and no, Crompton isn't any better than he was last year, then suddenly it's a choke job because Kiffin didn't win the game? That's like a wife getting preemptively pissed off at her husband because she's already decided that he's going to refuse to do something that she hasn't even mentioned to him yet.

Well, yes. The only reason I blame Fulmer for Crompton is because there isn't anybody else. Busts happen; injuries happen. You have to be prepared for that by having depth. But once it became pretty apparent last year that Crompton was a bust, there wasn't anybody else to go. It's unbelievable that a team which supposedly has designs on competing for SEC championships could ever get to the point where it has literally nobody on its roster who can credibly play even average QB. Jim Bob Cooter was a joke a few years ago; if he were on the team now, he'd probably be starting.

If Coach Cut was calling Crompton uncoachable then CLK cant do anything with him either imo. It is what it is. He's the best we have and he's the worst qb in the nation at a major college program.

Patients with coaching is earned. Kiffin is already in the hole. He'll climb out and earn the right to screw up.

I support the coaches and still hold a small hope that we'll go bowling.

That makes zero sense. Kiffin should be given "patients" to turn around one of the worst offenses in CFB and a 5-7 team.

So you had zero "patients" with Fulmer until he beat Florida and earned it, then finally ran out of "patients" last season?

Are we talking about a medical staff or a coaching staff?:tease2:

Patients is important much the same way as it's important for a QB to have good pocket presents; especially when running a shuttle pass.

What dose Fulmer have to do with a coach that looses a game he schuld hav won his sekond time on the field?

only because kiffin won his first game so convincingly.

Negative. They would have been a 7-10 pt favorite if they hadn't played WKU and UCLA was the opener. They had a frosh QB that hadn't played in a game in over two years (he was injured his SR year of HS then redshirted) on the road.

WKU didn't move the vegas line a bit in the UT-UCLA game. The world knows WKU is awful.

I'm trying to understand at what point Fulmer earned patience from you. When did Majors earn patience?

Kiffin needs patience to rebuild a team that was 5-7 and one of the worst offensive teams in the nation.

If Kiffin is already in a hole as you say it's the hole Fulmer spent the past decade digging.

This.

Some people (i.e., Fulmerites) can't grasp the fact that Fulmer left Kiffin a MAC-quality roster to rebuild over the next few years. We already know that this team would be at best a middle of the pack team in the Mountain West, with the loss to MWC bottom-feeder Wyoming as the evidence.
