Looking more and more like DeBord will be the new OC

Well, we better hope its not Debord. I was just reaching the point where I had hope for the future.

Then we consider pulling out the Studebaker to try and run with the Ferrari
Drop a supercharged LS-9 Chevrolet engine, and a Tremec TKO-600 trans in the Stude, and let her eat.

Debord could have come to Knoxville to consult. Has he ever run this style of offense as a coordinator? I don't think he is the hire.

He ran a similar scheme last century.
He has only coached te's and hasn't recruited in nearly a decade. This guy was darn near forced retirement.

I'm not a proponent of DeBord necessarily, nor am I an opponent.

I do know that if most here were correct in their assessment of a coach; Butch would've never have been able to recruit with a losing season; the defense wouldn't have improved from year 1-2 because Jancek 'failed' at Georgia; Sal Sunseri would've been Dooley's savior; Will Muschamp would've been a home run hire before Dooley; Gruden who has never been a HC in college and hasn't coached in years was the perfect fit at UT; Bajakian was so awful he should be fired (instead of getting a look for a CFB HC, and hired as position coach in the NFL); Butch and his staff can't recruit in the SEC, because Big East; the list is endless. The one consistent thing is that what the guru's here believe to be the important factor, rarely is.

I wasn't debating the merits of the Vol Nation gurus, simply stating there may actually be some validity to concerns about DeBord.

His offenses were less than spectacular at Michigan despite having a future HOF QB on the roster.

He has been out of the coaching game for a couple of years after sliding down the rungs of the coaching ladder.

I hope you're right and there is some magic dust that Jones can coat him with to turn him into a modern day spread offense magician though.

Do job postings for the university have to be posted and open for a certain length of time? I am asking because I know this is true in some states.
