University of Tennessee’s own Kevin Nash!Help me. May come as a shocker, but I'm not really in to rasslin'.
Apparently they want the relationship/meaning of the name to be changed. Instead of the official name being referenced to Francis Nash (American Brigadier General during the Revolutionary War) this dude wants it to be changed to being named after Diane Nash (b. 1938) and still living a Chicago native but apparently organized civil rights protests in Nashville while attending Fisk University.Right, gotcha. I still have no idea why someone thinks the city should be renamed.
That was the name of the original town and fort c. Revolutionary War. Nashborough, IIRC.
My only complaint is that I moved to Memphis first and didn't move to east Tennessee soon enough.Happy 230 Birthday to the Great State of Tennessee.

What Do the Three Stars on the Tennessee State Flag Mean? The Story of Tennessee Geography
Have you ever wondered why the Tennessee State flag has three stars? The stars represent the three grand divisions of the state! One star is for East Tennessee. One star is for Middle Tennessee. One star is for West Tennessee. The stars are placed at an angle to each other so that no one star is...tnmuseum.org

But there is more to the geography of Tennessee than the three divisions.

Every native Tennessean should know this. It pisses me off when I hear someone refer to Middle Tennessee as "Central Tennessee".![]()
