Over the last 20 years what's the combined ratio?
Sadly, I can remember each and every men's basketball win over UK for the past 20 years. I think we met in the SECT twice (2005 and 2010). So, from 1994-2013, we have played 42 times. Our wins are 1999x2, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2013.
So, that makes us 9-33. Of course, the football team is 19-1 (from 1993-2012). So, the combined total is 34-28 UK.
The total would look much better for UT if we threw in women's basketball. Also, if we had been playing twice per year in football all these years, the ratio would change.
For the sake of a fairer comparison, let's assume each football season would have been a sweep had there been two games, unless the one game played was decided by one score. Let's generously assume football splits in 1995, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2011, with UT sweeping in the other 12 years. That changes football to 32-8 for UT, making the combined men's total a stunningly even 41-41. How about that, guys??? Football does not have an SECT, so you could adjust the final tally to give UT a slight edge by adjusting for the two years where a third game was played in the sport in which UK has the advantage.
