Links for Josh Heupel Intro presser Wed 1/27 @ 12:30

I do want to say he’s better with the media than Jeremy Pruitt by a LOOOOOOOONG shot.

I left that Pruitt presser mad as a hornet.

This one strikes me in a far different way. This is someone who hasn't had things easy his entire life. He's been challenged in his career. He's worked with great teams. He's worked with rebuilding programs. He's a head coach, not someone who is impersonating how he thinks a head coach should act on a stage.

I don't know how well he's going to do here. There are some concerns. But at least he's a sentient, functioning adult whose had some challenges in his career both personally and in the jobs he's taken.

this guy is an idiot...he cannot look up and at the people or in the camera...he is in over his head...another failure, no confidence,
It’s a known fact he wants to be in his office drawing up his next offensive scheme, and being with his family. let’s see if takes more time with recruiting.

He is saying all the right things and has a better delivery than Pruitt.

I am more interested in what he does with his staff.

He turns Knoxville into UCF North and brings his staff with him then we will be in big trouble I am afraid. Almost no recruiting ties in the SEC.

Way better than Pruitt already if you ask me personally. He seems confident, he’s had some moments of being nervous and I get that this is all new to him.

Interesting admission that he essentially said he didn’t want to hire Heupel. Don’t think I’ve ever heard that admission from an AD.

The presser was fine. The introduction was fine. Heupul was fine. I am sure he knows the reality of all this, as does everyone else around him. It is what it is. I am not going to hate on this guy for stepping up to the plate -- I find it a bit exhausting when people attack folks for doing what anyone would do in their position (that is, what's in their best interests). If I had any frustration to express, it would be to the AD or the process that has guided us down this path of decline. I am not going to stab a secret voodoo doll hoping for the dude who's going to take responsibility to fail.

I never liked the Pruitt hire. I think most of us had no faith in him from the beginning. This guy gives me a little hope. He may absolutely suck here, but he at least seems like he will embrace this job which is something that Pruitt never seemed to fully do.
