Lindsey Nelson Stadium,

LNS looks fabulous. They did a great job with the renovations. The uber wide concourses will especially be appreciated once SEC play begins. It looks like a top 10 college stadium suitable for a top 10 program. They do need to being the checkerboards back on top of the dugouts. I’m sure @preacherman20 would agree.
I just noticed the dugout checkerboard was no longer...agree needs to added back in.

Whatever they do to the dugouts, the Orange needs to be Orange. Every season, it needs to be repainted. The sun fades it to Yellow. We aren't GT. We aren't So. Miss (for those who like the dang black unis.) Refresh the Orange to Tennessee Orange. Pantone 151. Every season.

Just do it.

(Oh, sorry, we are adidas now.....)

Haha, that would be true for most of us at that age. He, however, is a super-awesome kid that spends his free time with campus ministry and Young Life, doesn't drink at all. He's saving money for a summer-long mission trip.
I haven't had a drink since 2018. I didn't go to rehab or anything, just decided I was drinking too often and it negatively affected my personality, so I stopped. I don't miss it (or the effects) at all. But it took me until I was 40 to realize this. Sounds like your son is smarter and more mature than I was (and most were) at that age. Good for him. It takes a lot of confidence to go against the grain at that age. I have to think his parents have something to do with that.

Are the 300 level tickets club level? Are there separate concessions?
Yes. Rocky Top Club. Separate concessions but you can’t take food or drinks out of the Club. This makes no sense since you are paying a premium for food and drinks, and they allow you to leave MVP room with your food and drinks. Just a ridiculous rule that makes no sense whatsoever.

They don't want us regular season ticket holders getting in on the high end hot dogs and popcorn.

I was given tickets to a couple of games in the new Rocky Top area. It is nice. There are three rows of seating. However, if you are on the first row, your view of the field is partially blocked down the third base line (see third photo). If you are on the top row, the railing does not get in the way.

The staff is incredibly nice. I ordered a sandwich that’s not on the regular menu, and it was good. I don’t normally get anything to eat at the game. I personally like my season ticket location better.

I see what you're saying on the obstructed view. It isn't awful, but you'd think tempered glass retention walls would have maybe been a better consideration for that purpose.

We live in such a class society. Much like the Suites at Neyland, the Rocky Top Club are literally the worst seats in the stadium (granted much worse at Neyland than LNS). However, you make them “exclusive” with VIP lounge access and overpriced food, people will be lining up to pay a premium for poor seats with so called exclusivity. It’s kind of sadly funny.

I'd like to sit in club seats one time just to say that I've done it, but after that put me back close to the field/court where the action's at.

Hold up. I get drinks because alcohol rules/laws are weird. But you can’t walk out with a chicken sandwich you paid $15 + tip for?

Hahhahahahahahahahahaha. Someone over there has way too much time devoted to pointless stuff.

You can’t take anything out. It‘s ridiculous. I even clarified with them that it wasn‘t an alcoholic drink. I think they just makeup rules to be restrictive.

The tipping for counter service has to go. Period. It’s complete BS.

Its ridiculous. I've said it before, probably in this thread, but their grab/go setup is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in a stadium. And, yes, they ask for a tip when you walk in, grab an item and present it at the cash register.

America's tipping culture as a whole is ridiculous. We're expected to pay for food and subsidize an owner's labor force. In other countries, tips are insulting. The restaurants pay living wages to its staff. Which means the cost is built into the food. And that's fine with me. But don't hold me accountable for tipping a certain amount no matter how good (or existent) the service is.

I'm guessing more stuff will be completed at the stadium before the SEC home opener against Missouri and especially LSU. The pizza place on3rd base side. The UT Creamery ice cream shop.

I had a thought as well. The towers at either side of the stadiums new "hat" need long banners hanging off them

I don’t think the pizza place is happening any time soon. Is was stuffed full of construction equipment this weekend. Not construction on that space but just place to store equipment during games.

I would agree with you, but the entire concourse looked like this 2 weeks before game 1.
True. I walked the stadium a week before and thought there’s no way. We did have a seat come completely loose in the upper deck in the first week. That was wild. I still can’t believe they didn’t put a public bathroom on the mezzanine. Crazy. That’s a great standing room area, but they didn’t think that through.

Our seats are in front of the press box and I asked about there being a restroom there and was told it for media only. Lots of good room down that first base side. SRO would be a good idea.

They have a standing room rail behind the one row of seats on both sides. The no public restroom is Just stupid planning. You can put some portable concessions up there for bigger games. There’s a lot of room on the main level down right field and left field to put some aluminum bleachers for sell outs. They have some dinky ones in the student section. Need that on the porches as well.
