Lindsey Nelson Stadium,

Perhaps dumbest question of the day—
Watching on TV, the padding on the wall behind home plate looks very smudgy, like the outer layer of color has been scarred or faded. Is there a reason it has not been replaced? Keep in mind, I have a TV that is at least 15 years-old.

The padding has images on it of the Smoky Mountains with fog, etc. I haven't seen what it looks like on TV but can imagine it might look a little mottled.

Any one notice you could hardly see the plate from the television broadcast ? Was it poor camera angle or is it really that difficult to see the outline of the plate ?

It looks far better in person

When it first went up and I was watching on tv I had several threads here wondering if it were water stains from rain

Watching the game vs Kent live right now on YouTube. I know I have not been a Vols fan and not trying to bash a stadium tradition, but it just doesn’t look like clouds to me. Just white smudges .

The Athletics department should hand one out at a time the last regular season game. Every person that gets one gets their hand marked with ink that will take days to come off, possibly requiring kerosene, so nobody tries to go back to the gate staff to get a second one. Make the announcement tomorrow so the market for these greedy thieves is hurt quite a bit. Yes, I am sure there is a decent cost in making these, but get some company to sponsor the giveaway.—Side note, strangest giveaway I ever got at a ballgame. Years ago, before the Meadowlands Arena was built, the New Jersey ( now Brooklyn) Nets played at Rutgers. The Nets were playing the Seattle SuperSonics . The Nets had a promotion called Mount Saint Helens Night after the volcano erupted in Washington. Everyone got a keychain with certified ash from the volcano inside the keychain.

My son got there early and was fortunate enough to get one. However, an older gentleman offered him $100 cash for it, and he is a student....
Well, LNS replicas don't metabolize in the liver and pass through the kidneys, so your son likely made the "college student" choice.

Haha, that would be true for most of us at that age. He, however, is a super-awesome kid that spends his free time with campus ministry and Young Life, doesn't drink at all. He's saving money for a summer-long mission trip.
